Interesting.

Quote
The 49ers coach's family and friends have been "encouraging" him to accept the job as head coach at his alma mater, Michigan, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday.

Quote
Harbaugh, though, "is torn because his heart is in the NFL," sources told Schefter, and he'd like to see what other coaching opportunities arise.

If his heart in in the NFL then he ought to stay there.  Hard to enjoy a job when you heart is not in it.

I think he will be the next coach at Michigan. Michigan has been too quiet in their search and that kind of tells me that they have someone in the waiting and are just not saying anything.

Yes, I feel sorry for poor Jim, with a $49 million offer to coach college football.

Yeah, but after taxes, insurance, moving expenses, & other costs he has a measly $33 million left over so give him a break.

True, but life can be difficult to enjoy when your family isn't happy...

If he does accept the job...it will be the best thing to happen to Michigan Football in many years...and it will be a nightmare for Ohio State.

I wonder if Urban Meyer will have panic attacks again?

Meyer has been having panic attacks for about two weeks. Ever since they announced OSU would play Bama in the Sugar Bowl. HTH

More news on Harbaugh.

Quote
The tenure of 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh will reportedly end within two days after San Francisco wraps up the season.

CEO Jed York has decided to part ways with Harbaugh within 24 to 48 hours after the 49ers’ season concludes next Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported.

This is getting ludicrous & downright silly.

Quote
However, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, there are several other NFL coaches on the school’s radar, including Harbaugh’s older brother, John.

Michigan has maintained a desire to land Harbaugh’s brother, John, as well, sources said, but the Ravens coach has made it clear he has no interest in leaving Baltimore. Other NFL coaches on the school’s radar include New Orleans’ Sean Payton, Buffalo’s Doug Marrone and Dallas’ Jason Garrett (who is expected to sign an extension with the Cowboys shortly after the season).

I think the longer this stretches out, the more likely Jim H or some other NFL coach goes to Big Blue. Remember Bama waiting out the NFL season to land Saban? I can see a similar scenario in this case.

Good point. I really think that Harbaugh will take another NFL job, though. His heart is in the NFL and he's too good a coach not to land a job with another NFL team.

Who knows who will end up at Michigan?

Someone else named 'Harbaugh'?
