Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper will be in New York this weekend as one of three Heisman Trophy finalists, but ESPN analyst Trevor Matich said Wednesday one of Cooper's teammates should have accompanied him.

Matich, a former BYU and NFL offensive linemen who now hosts ESPN's College GameDay on radio, was a guest on Ivan Maisel's "Championship Drive" podcast Wednesday. He said that Alabama quarterback Blake Sims should be a Heisman finalist along with Cooper, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota and Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon.

I think Blake should be a finalist, as well. His stats and QB rating are right there with Mariota. He means everything to the team and we wouldn't be where we are without him, kind of like Oregon and Mariota.

Matich is pretty interesting, but has no soul.  Before he was talking about Sims, he said Jameis was playing better this year than last and deserved recognition for it.   Embarrassed

Well so much for that.  That is just crazy talk.  His TD to interception ratio is horrible this year.
