OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- - Lane Kiffin has opened up the once-vanilla Alabama offense and the first-year offensive coordinator has the Crimson Tide piling up passing yards and points.

Slowing down Alabama has become even tougher.

No. 11 Mississippi (4-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) will see if it is up to the challenge when the Rebels host the third-ranked Tide (4-0, 1-0) on Saturday. Alabama is averaging 42 points and 335.8 passing yards per game and features one of the nation's best receivers in Amari Cooper.

This is a really interesting game to me.  Not just because I am a Bama but because of all the "talking heads" that want to point out the statistical rankings of the Ole Miss defense vs. Bama's "high powered" offense.  While Bama has not truly faced a real quality defense neither has Miss played against a real quality offense, therefore the statistics are inflated.  Time will tell if our offense is as good as it appears.  Likewise about Miss's defense.  Now, having said that, if I were a gambling man I'd put a lot of money on Bama for this weekend...   Cool

Ole miss biggest problem is they don't know when to shut up and let their actions show on the field instead they keep running off at the mouth!

The Ole Miss defense is loaded with talent, including several 5-star recruits.  They're real, but untested this year.

Most noteworthy is the (quiet) injury news.  Cornerback Senquez Golson has a hamstring injury, and is questionable for the game.  He says he'll play, but how well?
Also, defensive end CJ Johnson left the Memphis game late with "just an abdominal cramp", but it looked more severe.  He's also being reviewed by the SEC for throwing a punch during the Memphis game (some calling for suspension).

If neither of those guys plays, Ole Miss will have big holes in their defense; BIG HOLES.  Stay tuned.

Just try to keep up with Coop on a bad hamstring and see how that works out.  Laughing

I couldn't do that if I was half my age and had never touched one of those.
