As he reflected upon a 445-yard, four-touchdown performance against a Florida defense that promised to be one of the best Alabama would see all season, Sims rattled off a laundry list of players who helped make it happen. First it was the wide receivers, then the offensive line, then the three running backs whom he named individually.

Not until he was pinned down with the question, "How do you think you threw the ball today?" did Sims take an in-depth look at his personal performance. He deemed it worthy of 21 words.

"I felt like I threw it pretty good," Sims said. "There was certain times my feet weren't right or I did something wrong."

And then, he did it again.

"It was just the great wide receivers getting open," Sims said. "It's just like playing catch in the backyard."

His teammates and coach were happy to fill in the blanks for him in a performance that was among the best in program history.

Sims beat his previous career-high (250 yards) by the end of the first quarter

last year at times even when we won we (our team) didn't seem excited, but, more entitled and individual. There is a big difference in the whole team this year: cohesiveness?

I am just so happy for Blake Sims.  After all the doubts and all his waiting he finally has an opportunity to do what he did yesterday.  You know he has to have heard all the naysayers.  Now he's heard the roar of appreciation from Bryant-Denny stadium fans when he came back from the locker room after his injury.  A class kid who hung around for five years and, when his chance came, he reached out and seized it!  ROLL TIDE!!!!

That is a classy response by Sims. Give all the credit to the players around you and earn the respect of your coaches and teammates.

Sims deserves all the accolades he is receiving. I also have to tip my hat to Lane Kiffin. We came out of the Spring game without a QB and the offense looked awful. He not only turned our offense around but made it one of the most productive offenses Bama has seen since the wishbone era.

Maybe Sims is providing the kind of leadership this team needs.  A player who did whatever was asked of him, never complained, never made it about himself but what was best for the team.

Whether Sims realizes it or not but he just established himself as a leader yesterday with that performance. Applause E-Cred

Blake has really got control now when his coaches and teammates finish up his thoughts for him. There is no competition now. Blake is the #1 starting QB at Alabama. Great job to Blake. RTR!

I like this kid more and more each week. He has been a pleasant surprise not just with his play but with his attitude and leadership.

^^^This. The entire team is on-board with Blake. Would love to see him take us to #16.
