WRs not named Amari Cooper: Alabama's junior receiver is off to a hot start and hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, but the chatter this week has centered on how to get more of the Crimson Tide's other playmakers involved in the offense. The likely return of DeAndrew White should help, as White caught six passes for 73 yards in Alabama's season opener before he went down with an injured shoulder. Wide receiver Chris Black and tight end O.J. Howard are the two players Alabama really needs to get rolling. Black has five receptions for 58 yards while Howard has yet to catch a pass and has only been targeted once. If Florida figures out a way to bottle up Cooper on occasion, these players and quarterback Blake Sims will need to come together to keep the sticks moving.
3. Secondary concerns: Alabama could very well start its third different combination at cornerback this season, as freshman Tony Brown was seen taking repetitions with the first-team nickel defense at Tuesday's practice. ...
We'll finally learn what kind of team we have, whether Kiffin has been holding back on his offense, whether the D-line can finally pressure the QB consistently, and whether our (patchwork) DBs can cover quality receivers. Should be fun!
