Excellent article, but the defenses will catch up to the HUNH. Defenses always catch up. I agree with his assessment of LSU D.

So here's a bone, SEC coaches: start with some LSU film.  The Tiger roster isn't exactly overrun with Rhodes Scholars, but John Chavis understands that complexity and pace is best dealt with stressing simplicity and assignment clarity.  Tackling improves, aggression is unleashed, turnovers get forced, long plays over the top don't happen.  Stressing broad applicable principles over specific play calls with good athletes is vastly preferable to a confused secondary staring to the sideline begging for their accustomed 30 second brain transplant and the perfect play call...that they won't be able to execute in time.

Good read! But , I think we have our very own HUNH defense this year?Huh???as CNS said: maybe we don't have sheep that need to be led! We will soon see whether  our coaching staff has us ready, because CNS just compared WV offense to something similar to Texas A&M

LSU has done better against these offenses (Oregon, Auburn, TAMU) than Bama.  Maybe Bama should take notice.

What killed Bama against Auburn was the offense failing to get the short yardage first downs that would have kept Auburn's offense off the field and Bama could have scored more points to put the game out of reach as well as run more clock. To me the best way to beat the HUNH teams to keep their offense on the side lines and force some 3 and outs when they do have the ball.

Forcing the 3 & outs is why you must have a strong D-line and pass rush. You're right, the offense and kicking game let us down against Auburn. Thankfully, one of those problems graduated.

Very good article! FSU and UGA pretty much shut down the AU offense in the second halves last year by increasing the pass rush. Boles won and Dawgs should have.

Defenses will catch up and probably this season, but when you have quality athletes like TAM it is always going to be tough to stop. Agree with an earlier post, drive the ball on offense and keep their offense off the field.
