He'll be the first offensive coordinator under Saban to work from the sidelines.

Saban made it clear this was his decision. Kiffin coached from the press box when he was offensive coordinator at USC but has helped call plays in some capacity from the sidelines as a head coach since 2007.

"I always let the coordinators be where they want to be," Saban said. "In this case, even though he felt more comfortable being in the press box, I think it's important that he is on the field. He has the greatest impact and effect on the players."

That will be even more vital for this particular season, as Kiffin could be working with multiple quarterbacks during the first few games...

Huh?  So, Coach Saban says it's Kiffin's decision, Kiffin prefers to be in the press box, but he'll be on the field.  Huh?

At least he'll be close enough for CNS to scream at him when necessary!

He may be in the press box by halftime.

Prolly.  Then there'll be nobody for the players to hide behind.

I would think with the experience of CNS he knows what a change might bring. It sounds good but like other posters said he may be back in the press box a later time. This is just to see how different things work. I think CNS is starving for another championship season. RTR!
