One thing was clear: Alabama's second-team defensive line is worlds ahead of the second-team offensive line. The Crimson defense accounted for six of the day's seven sacks -- which were not really sacks because the quarterbacks wore non-contact jerseys -- with outside linebacker Ryan Anderson and defensive end Jonathan Allen combining for five. ...

Looks like we'll be testing the 'DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS' theory again.

I truly believe in the "defense wins championships" theory. Most folks are blaming the QBs for the offensive woes yesterday but there were a ton of catchable passes dropped yesterday, including Cooper, that could have made the game a lot different. There were also a lot passes that were poorly thrown as well. I was very pleased with the defense and that's a big step ahead of where this team was after the Oklahoma game. I pretty much expected the offense to be the lesser of the two teams yesterday and unless Sims just had a bad day  I really doubt that he will be the starter in September.
