CMG has been pitching a lot of guys for 2 or 3 innings in these mid week games regardless of how well they may be doing. He saves them in case he needs relief pitching is needed in the weekend series. We got 8 runs in the top of the first and coasted the rest of the game.

This was only a big game if we lose it. We did what we needed to do. Now we need to take the MSU series this weekend.

Bama would have to sweep MSU and Ole Miss would have to be swept for us to take the West, but that's not likely. If we take 2 of 3 from MSU, that should give us momentum going into the SEC tourney. Hopefully, we can at least pull that off.

Bama would have to sweep MSU and Ole Miss would have to be swept for us to take the West, but that's not likely. If we take 2 of 3 from MSU, that should give us momentum going into the SEC tourney. Hopefully, we can at least pull that off.

Our main objective right now is to do enough to host a NCAA Regional. CMG said last week host teams win 80% of the regional's. I think it will take winning the MSU series and win two SEC tourney games.

Winning the SEC tourney can be a bad thing. It starts on Tuesday and ends on Sunday. The teams that make it to Saturday and Sunday will be out of pitching and the most important weekend of the season coming up.
