I read an article recently that suggested all SEC schools use cow bells when they host Miss State. Their reasoning was not only to irritate Miss State but to also get the SEC to enforce the ban on cow bells and artificial noise makers. It is not a bad idea IMO.

I kind of hate to say this and you all may disagree but, we did a lot better job on defense after the 2nd. string QB hurt his arm. He was really lighting up our DB's.  After he was sidelined and the 3rd string guy came in, there was an obvious drop off.

Had that QB change not happened, we might be having a very different conversation this morning.

Yep.  Coach Bryant either started the process or (at least) supported it.

I've been to one Miss St game. The people directly behind us had cow bells and used them vigorously during their opening drive that led to a field goal. We never heard then again after that. Oh, BTW, Bama won 48-3.
I also went to one Mississippi State game, years ago, with my brother.  He bought one of the Mississippi State cowbells and would ring it vigorously every time Bama made a play, every time Mississippi State offense was on the field, etc.  I went back later and watched that game on DVR, and sure enough you can hear that lone cow bell.

Those darn things are more annoying than those zuza things at the soccer games.

I wish Slive would revisit the cowbell issue because it is totally unfair to permit one school to use the noisemakers and not the others. I'm not really sure how the ruling reads but I don't ever see  any other school in the SEC using anything.
