There are some good out of state rivalries in college football.  You have Mich/OSU, UT/OU, and UF/UG.  In my opinion Bama/LSU has moved to one of the top rivalries.  I think it has replaced Tenn.  Your thoughts and maybe some of the rivalries I have left off.

LSU/Florida
Oregon/Stanford
Missouri/USC is heating up
USC/Notre Dame
Michigan/Notre Dame
Ole Miss/LSU
Clemson/Georgia
Penn St/Michigan building

Yes, right now, LSU/Alabama has surpassed Bama/UT as a big rivalry.

Yeah, I was going to add  that one, but I changed my mind. What a great game that was. Nebraska going to the Big Ten makes absolutely no sense.

OU/Neb is like Bama/Penn St. Once a good rivalry now they no longer play each other.

Some out-of-state rivalries which are getting better or may not be that well-known:

Michigan State/Notre Dame
Miami/Virginia Tech
Boise St/BYU
Georgia/Tennessee
FSU/Clemson  developing
Ga. Tech/VT   developing
Penn St/Ohio State  developing
Wisconsin/Ohio State
Oklahoma/Baylor  developing
Washington/Oregon
Washington/Stanford

Georgia/Auburn

Some of my Georgia buddies tell me they can't stand Auburn.

This is about out-of-state rivalries, not in-state games.

I'm thinking most out of state rivalries will lose much of it's glitter as the realignment of conferences and the playoff system takes over college football. It could also end some in-state rivalries.

That is very true.

I think no matter what, certain rivalries will continue. What ruined the Texas/Tex. A&M rivalry was the overbearing arrogance and big time money of Texas. The Longhorn Network was the last straw.

UT doesn't want any of A&M until JM leaves. It worked out good for them.

I'm sure some rivalries will continue but I'm not sure they will play each other every year as it is now.

Some out-of-state rivalries which are getting better or may not be that well-known:

Michigan State/Notre Dame

Notre Dame is bailing on this game.
