A member of Nick Saban's Alabama football staff who was accused at his previous job of providing impermissible benefits and introducing a prospect to a booster had his salary frozen and his contract not extended for one year, according to an annual report of secondary violations posted on Alabama's compliance website.

Yeah, they post some of the schools, it's really no big deal in most cases. This one raised my eyebrow a little because of who is being punished. He either told one great big lie to get to Bama or Bama misjudged the severity of what he had done at Miami. I'm a little surprised this happened.

I have to say, when i first seen this, it blew my mind. I guess the word NCAA just makes my stomach roll. I hope all is well. I know coach runs a good clean program, so I think. RTR!

This whole "secondary violation" thing seems so minute and trivial, the punishments so minor, the monitoring so extensive, the rules so detailed, you just wish the NCAA would get out of this business.

If a school does not report some secondary violations it should be a red flag to the NCAA. They either don't have compliance program in place or they are cheating and trying to get away with it.

We actually release our secondary violations once a year as a media report.  Most schools definitely do not do that.
