I'm sure you've all heard about Robert Foster and Brandon Hill's commitments recently.  Seems like some folks are indicating that we may have a little "perfect storm" brewing in the recruiting world right now.  Dee Liner has been rumored to be flipping to Alabama (from Auburn) for some time.  Now the word is leaking out that possibly he's trying to get Rueben Foster and Carl Lawson to come with him.  Lawson is a long short, but Foster reached out to coach Saban recently (to gauge whether we still wanted him and had a spot?) and he's coming down for a visit this weekend with his friend and Bama commit Bradley Bozeman.  Liner may also been there (he's been in Tuscaloosa a lot in the last couple months).

Add in that we're ahead for Vonn Bell and at least even with Georgia for Laremy Tunsil and Alvin Kamara, and in the running for guys like Tim Williams, Kendall Beckwith, Matthew Thomas, etc, and it could be an extremely strong finish to a class that's already a top 5 lock.

Actually there's a good shot that we end up at #1 in all four major recruiting service rankings (for the first time ever I think).

CNS just has a way of persuading these young men to see the light, so it wouldn't surprise me to see them all come over. I still have very mixed feelings over Foster, but if he comes over, he could sure use some of the character that Saban instills in our players. Icing on the cake would be to lure Tunsil away from his Georgia lean.

He was the most dominating player on the field at the AL-MS all-star game by far, IMO.  I guess his talent has never been a question, but he struck me as a hard worker during the game and the reports I read from practice.  Moreover, the coaches and players all seemed to like him (and saw one coach who said  he felt like he was a really good kid) as a teammate.

I've never seen a high school player destroy ball carriers like him.  And he doesn't just try to lay the big hit...he actually wraps up and tackles with good technique while bringing the wood.

Only guilty of inking before thinking. If that was criminal, half our campus would be locked up.

Y'all are both right and CNS certainly knows this guy better than I do. I'll just never completely get over how he rubbed our noses in it when he decommitted. HL, I watched that game, also, and he is definitely a beast. If he comes aboard, I'll find my way to get over it.

There is an article on tidesports.com that talks about Bama's difficulties recruiting elite DEnd prospects.  Anybody know what it says?  This is a position where we definately need an upgrade.

I officiated the Central Phenix City/Auburn HS game this past season, and and my position is umpire (right beside/behind linebackers). RF was an absolute physical specimen and stud. It was shocking how fast is was for his speed. Very strong, sure tackler. The thing I liked best was he played hard and never mouthed off or showed his rear end. All the talk about him being a jerk and prima donna - I never saw it. He would be a heck of a pickup for Bama.

Good to hear.  That was my only concern about him.

Great information and discussion guys.  Thanks.

As for DE, it is hard to recruit one to play 3-4 in college because their role is mostly to fill gaps and let the LBs get all the credit, as opposed to a 4-3 where they can pad their stats and achieve a higher draft status.

I talk to Reuben at camp in 2011. He was a respectful kid. I really hope he comes to the Tide. He is a Amazon.  I do.t think we get Tunsil or Rob K.. Bell I think is all Crimson. Liner sure like wearing Bama.stuff a lot and he will roll with the tide. Of we could pick up Lawson man that would be just Sick.  I think we will sign 25 or maybe 26.  This will be a interesting month before signing day. I hope we clean the table with all of these guys in Crimson but, that rarely happens. We shall see. RTR

I would hope we get all 5. That said. I would love to see a spring/fall practice with all those guys competing for a position. I bet there are some epic battles.
