It is frosty on the knob this morning. Nice and warm on the inside of the house. Just like a Spring day in here. Thank God for people who care. RTR!

NALT - I know you'll miss home, but hopefully you'll get enough free time to enjoy that trip.  And pocket a bunch of per diem.  I miss work travel.   When I was supporting an FMS contract back in 2009-2011, I logged 15-20 trips a year (usually of the 3-4 day variety).   Hotels and airports get old after a while, but so does the same office/cube.
I am going to get totally sick of my hotel this trip.  When I arrive on island I will be taken directly to the hotel, checked in and escorted to my room. I will NOT be given a room key-card and will have to quarantine in that room for 10 days.  I can not leave my room at all for those 10 days.  After that I will be able to roam the island freely during my free time.

Wow, is that for everyone traveling into Hawaii, or do they have Alabama on their naughty list?   That is going to be a bummer of a 10 days.   Hopefully the room service menu is at least good!

That's for everyone arriving there, HL. My business partner cancelled his family vacation there because of it.
The rules have actually changed.  Kauai is now allowing people to stay in a "Covid approved" resort for 3 days.  They must have a negative test before they depart from home and then get another negative test at the end of the three days.  At that point they can roam freely on the island.  I have chosen to quarantine for the 10 days because it is still unclear if the 2nd covid test would be reimbursable or not plus, the Navy won't allow me on their base until I have been on the island for 10 days.

Yes, Happy Friday.

Time to put up hummingbird feeders and bluebird nesting boxes.

Yesterday I extended our deer-exclusion fence to protect LF's flowers.  Last year the deer kept them nibbled to the ground.

Happy Friday indeed.   I'll be knocking off at 12 and meeting a friend who recently moved back to the Huntsville area for lunch.   It will be only the second restaurant I've dined inside of in the past year.

Speaking of deer we had 5 standing in our yard the other day. Well we live right on the very edge of the Talladega national Forest. Mrs Dottie won't let anybody kill animals on our land. Must be the 1/2 Indian in her, lol. Ya'll have a very Blessed day lunch with your friend. RTR!

What type of fence is it, Chech?  My Dad used to plant about a quarter acre of peas every year.   They'd let the whole neighborhood, family, and church friends come pick some for themselves anytime they wanted.   He's stopped doing it the last couple years because the deer started eating off the pea pods before they were fully mature.

It's the light-weight mesh fencing that's sold at Home Depot.  Comes in different heights.  I tried it last year, and despite being light-weight, the deer don't push through or jump it.  Maybe it irritates their faces when they touch it.  It's almost invisible from 30' away.  Anyhow, after a year I decided it works; so I extended it over the rest of the flower bed.  Without the fencing they eat daylilies every night.

Colorado should get him for their mascot. I'd like to see him running around the sidelines.
