I am very proud of him too.  Last Wednesday night he got baptized...

That's awesome.  I know you and the Mrs were very happy and proud.  How old is he now?

HL you are the man. This morning my Sugar was 181 the lowest it's been in 3 months. When I went to my DR at the VA my A1C was 11.7 lol, He had a fit. RTR!

I hope you can get that worked out, Preacher.  I'm no expert, but I know that a high blood glucose for long periods can lead to a whole assortment of health issues.  We may have to talk to Mrs Dottie about those good cakes or fried taters she's been feeding you!

I was inching towards becoming a Type II diabetic.  It wasn't bad enough that I needed any medicine for quite yet, but it was going to be there in another 3-5 years if I didn't change something.  My resting heart rate has dropped since I've been dieting and doing a little walking, so I know that my BP has come down as well.

Mrs. Nalt went to the dr today to get the results of some recent blood work.  Doc told her the is an extreme diabetic now and wants her to start monitoring her blood sugar for the next couple of weeks and then go back in to see her.  Her cholesterol is also very high.  Say hello to a lifestyle change...

Sorry to hear that NALT. Hopefully, the doc can get her on a plan to get her manageable.

Preacher, NALT is right. Time to watch what you eat.

I am diabetic but not severely. In fact, I don’t even take meds, but I have to monitor my blood sugar regularly. Doc said if first blood in the morning stays below 150, I can stay off the meds. So far, so good. I average about 120.

She can probably get that sugar under control pretty quick with some diet changes.  Sometimes genes come into play with cholesterol to the point that it's hard to do much about it.  Upping your fiber intake probably helps more than actually trying to avoid cholesterol in food based on what I've read lately.

I tell you what, when you get busy, it's easy to just throw whatever is easy in your mouth.  And they make so much of that stuff so darn tasty these days too!  I know I've got a serious potato chip problem, but I haven't eaten one in several weeks.  I can easily go through a bag in a day if I'm not watching myself.

The Braves season just took a major hit.  Freeman just got hit in the same spot as last year (was out a couple months).  He walked straight to the clubhouse from the batter's box like he knew what just happened.

I think one reason my diabetes is manageable is the walk I do five days a week. It sure ain’t my diet.

66 degrees for todays walk. Not bad.

Good morning.  Coffee

Hope Mrs NALT gets a better report next visit; scary stuff.  Hoping the best for all of you other guys battling health issues.

Bummer about the Braves.  They finally seem to have a good team, and now injuries screw it up.

Recruiting seems to be going well.  Hopefully a good batch of recruits will be visiting this weekend.  Maybe they'll take one look at us handsome alums and sign immediately.

That really is a bummer about Freeman. He can’t seem to catch a break.

I think Jamos and the REC are ratcheting things up for the recruits.  Wink

I'm sure they are!
BTW, it turned cool overnight here.  You'll get it tomorrow; breezy and 45.  Ugh!
Hopefully the weatherman is correct, and Tuscaloosa will be upper-60s on Friday.  Originally they said it'd be cooler than that.

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the comments/suggestions regarding Mrs. Nalt.  I'm sure she will very stubbornly do just the very least that she has too.  Her diet is actually pretty horrible.  She normally eats one meal a day but she drinks a lot of Dr Pepper all the time.  Doc already told her she will need to cut back on those... I am going to try and get her started walking on a regular basis by suggesting she and I go for a walk.  May even try to get the two youngest boys to tag along as it will only be something good for them too... I'm looking forward to heading to T-town on Saturday morning.  I hope I can get down there pretty early but with my bunch, who knows?

It'll be good to see you and yours, NALT.
