Good morning.  Having coffee before heading to the lake.  Coffee

Not hibernating, Preacher, just busily having fun.  We fish all morning until the wind starts blasting, then have lunch.  We fish the rivers during the afternoons or enjoy the scenery.

I see the tropical storm came ashore, and everyone along the coast is getting heavy rain.  Hope everyone is okay.  Be safe!

 Kiss

Safe travels yourself, Chech.

I had a good report from the surgeon yesterday. Kidney levels are returning to normal. Will probably be normal in about 2-3 weeks. He was blown away that I'm up to walking 2 miles. Told me I have nothing to worry about. I've been given the freedom to drive again. Next goal; being given the freedom to drive the golf ball again.  Cool

Wonderful news, 2.  Just shows what benefits you get from having lived a healthy life knocking golf balls around.

Thanks OT. Would be a lot healthier if I give up the adult beverage stocked golf cart and did more walking with water.

Well, in my case, I like to quote the jazz guy Eubie Blake: "If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself."

Do you remember the old saying, "You drive for show and you putt for dough"? Better keep that putter in your hands for a little while longer, it will pay more dividends than the driver in more ways than one. Wink Cheesy

If the doc had stitched that putter to my hands when I had surgery, I still couldn't putt.

It is not raining here right now but looks like it could start any minute. Mrs Dottie had her first rehab yesterday at the Tyler Center and she was in pain last night it seems to be much better this morning. Hey 2 has it let up on the rain and flooding down there? My cousin posted on FB and it looked like a causeway on I-10 was flooded. RTR!

Preacher, I think some roads are still closed in the county next to us, but I think we're clear here in P'cola. Rain stopped late yesterday afternoon and the sun is out now. Feels nice.

Continued thoughts and prayers for Mrs Dottie.

Good morning folks.  Rain still coming down this morning but the local weather guessers think it should stop later this morning and leave us with a nice weekend.  Mrs. Nalt called me at work yesterday afternoon saying that an oak tree on the boundary of our property was leaning toward my truck and she thought it could fall on it.  So, I took off from work and went home to find the tree still standing just as it has for the last few years.  This tree died due to the drought last summer and I have been planning/thinking about taking it down but I just didn't want to yet.  Well, with her fearing the worst and the fact that Tropical Depression Cindy dumping lots of water on us and the winds starting to pick up I decided to go ahead and drop it.  I put a rope up high in it and pulled it from the base of another tree nearby.  Dropped it exactly where/how I wanted to.  It measured 19" in diameter at the butt-cut and I managed to get two saw logs 10' each out of it.  I'm hoping to trade those to my sawmill guy in exchange for sawing up some other logs that I have...

Hope 2 is drying out finally and Preacher and Ms. Dottie are healing.  Everyone else stay safe and enjoy the day...
