By the way, all of you that are familiar with the Rama Jama Cafe located next to Bryant Denny, it has been put up for sale by owner Gary Lewis. Gary is the Nick Saban look alike that the tv networks discovered a few years back. It seems he's ready to retire from all of the rigors of working the long hours required to run his place during football season. I did ask him about his decision to sell and he winked at me with a smile and said don't believe everything you read so what do we read into that. If he does sell though, he will be missed. He originally opened the Hounds Tooth tavern located on The Strip many years ago  before purchasing an old convenience store now known as the Rama Jama. He's one of the nicer people that you will ever meet. By the way, 2Stater and he were classmates in high school, Sidney Lanier in Montgomery.

Roll Tide everyone, enjoy the win. Wink

J, let's just buy Rama Jama and hire Olivia to work the tables.

ROLL TIDE!

 Laughing Capital idea!

Yeah, J sent me the article from the Tuscaloosa paper, about Gary putting the place up for sale. Makes me kind of sad, but then again, he hasn't been to a Bama game since he opened the Rama Jama 20 years ago. So I'm happy that he'll be able to do that. Gary and I have been good friends since the 6th grade. He's a class act!

Austin lost To #1 Clay-Chalkville 45-35 in AHSAA 6A Semi-Final playoff game last night. A great game with our team coming up on the short end. Our coaching staff make a big mistake with 1:00 to go in the 1st half. Trailing 28-21 (and getting the ball first in the 2nd half) backed up on our own 12 we stayed aggressive and tried to score. We threw an INT that was returned to inside our 20 leading to a score and a 14 point deficient. Austin fought hard the entire 2nd half. We had the ball inside their 20 with 4:00 minutes to go trailing 38-35 and turned the ball over. We had our chances but Clay-Chalkville is very good. The biggest team I have seen all year with athletes at every position.

Austin had a great year. It was fun to watch. About 15,000 was at the game last night. Clay-Chalkville is now 14-0 and many people think they are the best team in the state regardless of classification. Given the fact that we beat the #1 & 2 team s in 7A during the regular season I would agree with that.

Sorry to hear that Austin lost, but it sounds like they gave it everything they had. Regardless of the outcome of this game, they had an outstanding season. Kudos to them.

What a beautiful Sunday morning this is! Bama is still the king of college football and the barners are still vanquished booger eaters! Life is good!

Another good beatdown of the Warless Eagles.

Auburn running back Peyton Barber's opinion of Bama: "I don't feel like they were the better team."

Another example of API denial about who rules the state.

None of the 6 teams that beat them were the better team.

Ahhh, life is good again this year!!  Coffee

LF and I spent 15 hours on the road yesterday.  There were accidents from Virginia to Mississippi, on every interstate, due to the crowds, idiots, rain, and FOG.  There were 9 accidents on I-24 in Chattanooga.  We inched along until I said, "ENOUGH", and we took back roads around Nashville, then across southern Tennessee.  It was nuts!  At one point about dark yesterday we diverted 40 miles to the Natchez Trace south of Nashville, only to finally get there and find it was closed for construction.  Ugh.

There was a 13-car pileup on Afton Mountain in Virginia (I-64), and it took my nephew 7 hours to get from Charlottesville to Blacksburg yesterday (usually takes 2hr 15min).

But we're home safely, ready for a Monday.

Wow! Glad y'all made it home ok. My buddy Gil had a similar journey going back to Louisville yesterday. He said there were wrecks all over I-65.
