Today is our family Thanksgiving. I've got to fry 2 turkeys in blustery, windy conditions. I might need an adult beverage to keep me warm.

 

I've never had fried turkey; hear it's good.  I've been smoking turkeys the past few years, might roast one this year for a change, if I can finagle some room in the oven.

Fried turkeys came out perfecto! What a great feast we had today! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving this week. We all have so much to be thankful for.

Congrats again to Red Elephant.  He's kicking our butts on the picks.

Any word about Griffith?  Hopefully Scott kicking during the 2nd half was just practice; we need Griffith healthy.

The coaching carousel may not start until after the season, since nothing has been announced to date.

I don't think Griffith is hurt. Hopefully, he was just getting spelled by Scott.

Fun time at a local auction in Palmyra, VA last night.  Lots of old pistols and long guns.  Bought a Colt (single-action) Army Revolver, probably 1861.  Very nice piece of Virginia history. 

Fun time.  Lots of laughs, and a twist: never got the pistol home.  Sold it for a nice profit after the auction.

Well, here it's cold and windy.  Thought I would freeze yesterday morning.  But we've spent most of the time indoors, so it's good.

Glad you and LF made the trip in good shape other than some jet lag. You always seem to find a way to stumble into a rare event on your trips, very exciting. I hope you have kept a diary of all of your adventures and will someday write a book, it would be very interesting for sure.

Today we're going to visit Culpeper, VA (the town with a missing "p" in its name).  There's a Mennonite bakery there with the most delicious pies, cakes, etc.  Can't wait!!
