Chech, it looks like more rain for you.  Sad

Changing gears, now. We are in Lafayette, La. We went to the "Uncle Sam Jam" in downtown Lafayette. A good time was had by all.

Glad you had fun.

We had fun at the fireworks; no RAIN during them or the 'music on the Grove' before them.

Hey 2STATER, you in Lafayette, you oughta go down and visit the McIlhenny plant going toward New Iberia. We use to live in New Iberia when we were building the modules they sent to Alaska for their oil platforms. RTR!

Mrs. J and I got back a short while ago from a whirlwind trip to Texas and it was well worth our time. We did see a lot of car accidents in the Dallas area but there didn't seem to be any injuries, just a lot of traffic congestion. The time that we got to spend with our our new great granddaughter made everything worthwhile.

Chech, we took a small car trip yesterday to Mount Scott, just north of Fort Sill, and we had a chance to eat at a restaurant, I guess you could call it that, called Meers Restaurant. They specialized in serving good beef so that's why my granddaughter wanted to take me there. We've all talked about some of the hole in the wall cafes and restaurants on here before but this place was a hole in the hill restaurant and very olden, built in 1901. I will admit though, that was some of the best beef I've ever tasted. They raise their own cattle, Longhorns, and take a lot of pride in that as they had some of their prizes and ribbons from the cattle shows and fairs to support their claim. The best thing that they had to support their claim to fame was the long waiting line to get a table. There was a very long line when we got there at 12:45 but when we left about an hour later, there was a much longer line. I'm adding a link so you can see this place. I could help but think of you as you have traveled in some very remote areas and always seem to find the good things to see and do. We also went to the top of Mount Scott as well and had a beautiful view of the surrounding area.

Wow, that looks good, J. We had a great dining experience yesterday, as well. A place in downtown Lafayette called "The French Press". I had "Cajun eggs Benedict" and it was out of this world. I also had a side of "Praline bacon" that was the best bacon I've ever had.

Alas, we are back home and time to eat MUCH less. The traveling stops for a while, thank goodness!

I'll take the baton.  As soon as I get these appointments done at the physician's office, investment crap, and such I'm back to fishing.  Just trying to decide on a plan.

 Huh?
