I was "sure" FSU was going to lose last night.  Sure looked like they should have too, but they have some of that Auburnesque voodoo working in their favor.

We called it, "Golden Horseshoe".

Good early, cold morning. 39 degrees here.  Blizzard

I am officially an old fart. We called off our golf game because it's too cold. I remember in my earlier days, waiting impatiently for the frozen greens to thaw so we could play. Oh well, such is life. Good thing there is a lot of football today.

You scheduled a golf game at 3AM??  Don't you ever sleep?

Have some more coffee, eat a big breakfast, and watch SEC network.  They're previewing all of today's games.

BTW, it's 34 degrees and dropping here.  I remember playing golf in Virginia when the greens were so frozen that chips rolled toward the cup, stopped, then rolled back off the green.  Yes, I was an idiot once too!

Enjoy the day, my friends.

Actually, that's why I got up so early. My phone had a text message and went off. At 3 O'something in the morning, I thought it might be important. It was my insomniatic golf buddy bailing on me.

Dang, I was hoping you were the sane one of the pairing.
Up here it's easy to get a tee time on cold mornings, so (when I played) it was common to ride to the 1st tee in a coat.

And one for you for getting the (dead) thread started so early today.  Nobody as posting yesterday afternoon/evening.

The best early game today (2:30) seems to be TCU vs WV.  If only we had WV himself to help us assess that one!
I'm eager to see if Arky can play well against the Bullies too, but once again, all of the best games are at the same time.

Part of that was my fault. I was visiting with my oldest daughter, who is spending the weekend with us, and just received a job offer From Johns Hopkins Hospital. We talked about her good news until about 7:30 and the next thing I knew, I was watching the inside of my eyelids.

Me too.  We only had 3 groups of Trick-or-Treat kids last night, despite LF fashioning special decorations, complete with glow sticks and such, for the little tricycle engines (who never showed up).  It was disappointing.

Anyhow, after a couple episodes of American Pickers, I was asleep.

We only had one trick-or-treater last night. The parents don't like climbing the steep hill to our house.

Steep hill in Pensacola?  What, do you live on a sand dune??
I didn't know there were any hills in that city.  At last count, it was all sand and sailors.

We live in the northeast area of Pensacola, about 1/4 of a mile from Escambia Bay. That area is like a big cliff. We actually are on the highest point in Pensacola. (Probably about 50 ft above sea level  )
