Yeah, and probably a little NASCAR since they are at Bristol. You?

I'm supposed to help a buddy install a firepacle mantel today.  Then LF and I are having dinner with friends (at some new restaurant).  I'll prolly watch the Heritage before we leave for dinner.
 Thinking

After my long day away from home, I don't even know who is leading the tourny.  Embarrassed

POULTER.
DeChambeau never recovered after getting an 8 on #2 yesterday.  He'd been the leader, but shot +4 on the day.

Ha! My golf partner and I were talking about him yesterday. From listening to Poulter's interviews, whether he wins or loses, he is going to sleep for about a week.

No doubt.  He was late arriving at the Masters, then went right to Harbor Town...

Good morning folks.  All are safe here.  It rained quite hard yesterday for about a minute and then slacked off to just a steady rainfall.  That lasted into the night/early morning.  Nothing right now but I haven't checked the radar to see if it has all passed by us.  Hopefully the 2 clan are all well and safe.  Same for Preacher and Mrs. Dottie.  Chech, I had taken some Pecan logs over to my sawmill buddy and he and I sawed them into 3" and 4" thick slabs as wide as possible.  I am hoping to sell some mantels out of them.  I have already been talking with one of my brothers about that as he needs a couple of mantels.  He and my SIL are very receptive to the idea since the mantels actually came from our family home from when we grew up.  He is very sentimental like that... His will be free of charge though as they normally take care of our kids when Mrs. Nalt and I go to Virginia for the Walton's reunions in late October...

Very cool, NALT.  Hope they don't crack or warp while drying/aging.  I'd like to see the finished product.

Thanks NALT. I've only heard from one of my younguns. The other 2 are sleepy heads, so I'm not concerned yet.

We aren't expecting anything bad up here, just a lot of rain. The front is in Anderson now, slowly creeping this way. Anderson is about 35 miles from here.

Very cool about the mantels.

The slabs are thick and HEAVY.  I am hopeful that the weight of them will help to keep them from warping.  Most of them are long enough that if there is some splitting/cracking that I will be able to saw that out of them...

Good.  I assume you know about storing them appropriately.  Lots of good wood goes to waste like that.  My buddy, whose mantel we'll install today, has been given a lot of wood that's too warped or split for its original intended use.

Chech, I just heard they changed the starting time for the Heritage due to the anticipation of rain by 3:00. I guess we will be watching it this afternoon on delay.

Sounds like a fun time, Preacher.

THE FIREPACLE MANTEL IS UP!!  My friend did an exceptional job building it; took about 3 hours to mount on the wall.  Strong enough to walk on now!!

Applause E-Cred That is a beautiful mantel, Chech. The brick pattern looks very much like my firepacle here at the condo.

Very nice firepacle.  I love stonework like that...
