It's a good try but I'm not sure I trust Spencer Hall when he says Bama has won two NCs in the last five years.

Good article. I'm not under any illusions that Bama's dominance will last forever, another 20 years is good enough for me.

Kinda weird.  Apparently he believes that a highly efficient, pass-happy offense can beat Bama.  This was true to some extent when Saban first came to Bama, but I think Saban has grown as a coach in defending these types of offenses.  He has studied it, with laser beam precision after losses to Utah and USCe, and after a backup QB at Texas had some success throwing the ball.  Of course, this year's team had all the elements on D to stop it.  A veteran secondary executing their assignments didn't let many passes go completed.  With a young secondary, though, yes this would be a potential attack point.

Of course, that kind of offense executed perfectly will win NFL games too.  Victories are a team effort.  Saban appears poised to take Bama's O to the next level with a new OC.  With a more experienced QB, Bama will be able to pass when needed.   The BCSNCG showed everyone what to expect next year.  Bama will probably need more offense next year, with the loss of some defensive stars.  Two years ago, with a young defense, the offensive scheme was unable to compensate for defensive failings, despite huge talent.  I'm not expecting the same thing to happen next year.

The point of this is that Saban does not rest.  He does not get complacent with his approach.  He continually is refining, improving the team, the scheme, the strive for glory.  With a head start on the competition, and a stable of talent, I believe we are looking at a dynasty, as long as Saban is coaching.

I think that the biggest threat to Bama and the SEC will come from the NCAA. Look for more scholarship limitations, recruiting controls, and spending limits to "level the playing field". I would not even be surprised if some propose a "NFL style draft" to replace recruiting.

If quick precision, talent, and scheme are the ingredients, USC has them all in hand right now. Wideouts Robert Woods and Marqise Lee are both more than capable of doing that to anyone in the country, and Lane Kiffin has both the line protection, playcalling ability, and quarterback to pull it off. Add in a possible budding talent Nelson Aghelor in the slot to go three wide and make things even more complex for an opposing defense, and you rapidly approach a ball of knives-level pain in the passing game. Now that he's slowed down the Adderall job-hopping routine of his youth, the mature Lane Kiffin appears to be the brilliant person the 30 year old Lane Kiffin was supposed to be.

Except a defense.
