4.5 secs left: Nobody for Duke stopped the dribble of FSU. Guard drove to head of key, passed to wide-open man, GAME. LF went to Duke. I've always liked Duke and Coach K, but I was just impressed by FSU's recent efforts and had to give some kudos to them. Me too (Shhhhhh).

Around Campus / The Quad / "Why can't Nick Saban and Alabama come back and do it again?"

Nick Saban let his guard down for just a moment Saturday.
In the middle of his prepared speech, toward the close of the celebration in Bryant-Denny Stadium, the Alabama coach said one thing that sounded like it came straight from the heart he rarely shows to the outside world.
"I think winning two national championships in the last three years is pretty da#@ special," he said... Click here for link

Ryan Anderson was a man on a mission during the 2011 football season. He'd flown largely under the national recruiting radar after making 10 sacks as a defensive end in 2010. But he prepared for 2011 intent on making an impact.
In 2011, he did just that, racking up 105 tackles and 12 sacks during the season while splitting time at defensive end and linebacker, and turning heads during Alabama-Mississippi all-star week.
"He's just a completely different player than he was a year ago," Scout.com recruiting analyst Andrew Bone said of Anderson, who is already enrolled at Alabama. "He's just been a man on a mission all year long - big, fast, aggressive. Click here for linkGood article, and details on each of the 18.

Around Campus / The Quad / "Reports: Paterno ‘gravely ill’; family summoned to State College"

Diagnosed with what was described as a treatable form of lung cancer shortly after his firing Nov. 9, the reports since have indicated former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno had been making progress in his battle against the disease.
Sadly, reports coming out of State College Saturday paint a different and decidedly grim picture of the 85-year-old’s health.
BlueWhiteIllustrated, the Rivals.com website dedicated to cover Penn State sports, reports that Paterno is in bad shape and extended family has been called to State College due to his declining health. OnwardState.com tweeted earlier in the evening Paterno was taken off a respirator this morning. Click here for link I'll pray for him.

I agree Coach. I actually feel sorry for this young man. Yes, what he did was stupid wrong. But to possibly have the title of "sex offender" tied to him for the rest of his life? He's lost his job, lost the respect of his family and friends. This is something that will go with him the rest of his life. Yes, he deserves punishment because being stupid drunk isn't a legal defense, but I hope they can reach a plea and let him get on with his life. People have GOT to start THINKING with their brains. There is NOTHING sacred since You Tube... NOTHING. If it gets done, it gets posted. Should be a great object lesson to all.
Amen. But I can't help thinking this is all about some New Orleans policemen who are LSU fans.
