 Thanks, Ricky. This is today's view looking uphill on Chief Joseph Highway, which is the road I take to my cabin. This is the Cody, WY side. My cabin is over the 8,000' crest; cabin is at 7,500'. The road near my cabin is under ~25' of snow until mid-May, so I'll have to drive around the mountains and enter the valley via Gardiner, MT. No hurry yet; grizzlies are still hibernating.  |

NICK DUNLAP WON THE AMERICAN EXPRESS GOLF TOURNAMENT!!! The first amateur to win on the PGA tour since 1991. ROLL TIDE, NICK DUNLAP!!! And JT rebounded to finish tied for 3rd. He got married last year, so we'll just mark that terrible year up to being a honeymoon year.   |

We are unstoppable now that we have someone that can snap the football to the QB.
Talk about an upgrade! I don't want to blame one player, but we had that win against Michigan within reach. Every time we'd have a winning drive going, it'd happen; bad snap. Not just the final OT play, but throughout the game, the UGA game, the Boog game... the season. I just figure our center's problem was like YIPS in golf; something that can't be anticipated and causes weird muscle function.  |

Both JT and Dunlap were on '59' watch. JT parred #18 to finish with a 61 and -23 overall. Dunlap birdied #18 to go to -27 with a round of 60. Dunlap has a 4 stroke lead over JT at the end of the 3rd round. Bama boys doing us ptoud.
I taped it, and just watched it. Great moments for Alabama golf. Lots of "ROLL TIDE" heard in the background. BUT, Dunlap said his girlfriend just flew in to join him. Girlfriends in golf are KEYPTONITE! |

We're supposed to talk weather, right? LF and I are surrounded by about 5" of dense sleet, which is about to be solid ice. Nobody is driving anywhere in Oxford. Waiting for a snow plow. Might be a while! I leave for Yellowstone in April... |

The DC is going to be the South Alabama coach, Kane Wommack. I don't know much about him either, but what I have seen so far is encouraging. He was a semi-finalist for the Broyles award when he was the DC at Indiana when CKD was there as OC. The talking heads are saying it was a good hire. So... the next hurdle is can they keep the players that are currently on the roster, particularly Caleb Downs. If Downs decides to stay, I will feel better about everything. If he chooses to go, I can't blame him, but I am going to be a little uneasy until I see how these guys can recruit. Right now I am cautiously optimistic that this situation can work out and we keep rolling. But we will need at least a full 1 year cycle to know for sure. CDB can win next year with the roster he inherited. It will be critical to see what his recruiting class looks like next year. If we end up winning that UGA game on 9/28 a lot of folks are going to be on suicide watch. Yeah, I just read about the likelihood of Wommack coming on board as the DC. If Downs stays, I think most others will stay. Popcorn at the ready.  |
