HEY Guys

Been busy as usual.....you guys know

Team is PAST ready to hit somebody, get the smashmouth era going (the Motto, we're more physical, more dedicated & more driven)

Expect a lot more passing, Saban trusts AJ MORE than any QB he's had at Bama at this stage, so big things are coming in that regard

The 2 WR's to watch tonight will be Christion Jones and Amari Cooper, Cooper had a setback a few week ago but has been back this past week to full speed. His game compares a lot to some of the smaller fast guys you see dominate a good bit in the pro game, like Pierre Garcon & he just glides, gonna be a good 'un

Expect Lacy's carries to be extremely limited if we dominate like some of us expect, like maybe 15 - 20 range & you'll see a good bit of Fowler all over the field at 3 diff positions, but Yeldon will get heavy rotation

D

BOTTOM LINE THEY ARE HUNGRY!!

This group is the fastest I've seen at Bama (been here 4 yrs)
The goal is to be fast and physical, affect the QB and take the ball back.

Jesse Williams might be the best NFL prospect on this team this year, 2nd is Belue, he's an NFL CB really physical, hell the whole team is physical

More on individual players on D

Again Jesse is ridiculous, he played last year because he was a Juco, more athletic, but he only knew a smidge of the PB, he came in at 1 or 2 diff positions then had to come out, this year, he has full grasp, you will see a lot of rotation, then Dial coming in as a DT in nickel, LOTS of depth on the DL, Darren Lake is a monster as well, best back-up option as a NG even as a TF, reminds Saban & Kirby of Dareus

Bottom line, we love the DL group

LBs are a lot of inexerience in the group but every kid is more athletic than we've seen, Hightower started early because of his athleticism, well we have 3 guys who came in with that same athleticism, but we are too deep now. You'll see a lot more Mosley especially tonight. Nico will stay in, he is the vocal unquestioned leader. Adrian Hubbard is gonna have a HUGE year as a rusher he'll be moved around a lot, but he's a Julius Peppers body type and could probably START as a PF for Grant's team no joke, but he's that body type, gonna be a household name by the end of the year.

Secondary will be interesting simply because of the rotation of Vinnie, gonna see Lester as a deep S a LOT and he has improved every year, lots of people sleeping on him. Vinnie is so headsy and always around the ball, it's very hard to gauge this in practices but he affects plays with his physical nature like he did in the Aday game, that is what will have him in a lot on the field. Milliner & Belue are very solid CB's lots of scouts like Belue already since he's 6'1 and very physical and it stands out, Milliner is an man island type DB. The most interesting thing to watch tonight with CB's will be dime and extra DB's to see if TF Geno gets in, Fulton will play a good bit, but at this stage Geno is a bit more of a zone defender that makes the big hits etc, gonna be interesting.

Andrew Bone
TideSports.com Recruiting Analyst

Josh McNeil, four-star tight end from Hillside High School in Durham, N.C., committed to the University of Alabama late Friday night after visiting Tuscaloosa this week.

"It has been Alabama for a long time," said McNeil. "I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision. I didn't want to rush it. I was always going to commit to Alabama. It was my dream offer.

"I told the coaching staff yesterday while I was on my visit. I decided to hold it off until last night. The coaches were very happy I was choosing Alabama. It feels really good to be committed. I am ready to get there and prove to everyone that O.J. Howard and I are the best tight end combo ever. We are already being called the Tide Towers."

McNeil talked more of why he committed to the 2011 BCS National Champions. He also talked of what he and O.J. Howard bring to the class of 2013.

"The offer was my dream school," McNeil said. "I always wanted to play for coach Saban. You have to find the right school for you. It's not always what you want in your heart. That's why I took some visits. Just talking to coach Saban was a dream come true. It was almost like talking to the President of the United States.

"Alabama hasn't really had an athletic tight end. O.J. and I are bringing a new tradition of tight ends to the program. I think bringing in a pair of athletic tight ends will bring more championships to the program."

The 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect talked about his time in Tuscaloosa.

"When I went down there I just hung out with the players," McNeil said. "I asked them why they picked Alabama. I was just down there having fun. I really enjoyed myself.

"Coach Rumph was another reason why I committed. He was my recruiting coach. We are very close. It's almost like a father/son relationship. He played a really big role in my recruitment. Coach Williams also recruited me. I can talk to him anytime. Alabama is a real big family. I didn't feel that way at any other school."

McNeil recognizes his strengths and areas to improve before arriving at the Capstone.

"I am athletic," he said. "I can go up and get the ball. I can still improve on my blocking and stuff like that."

McNeil is solid with his commitment to the Tide and excited about his future.

"People ask me if I am 100-percent," McNeil said. "I am not thinking about anyone else. I will be at Alabama in 2013. O.J and I are going to be like Rob Gronkowsi and Aaron Hernandez. We want to be the best tight end combo ever."

On a day where the University of Alabama lost a commitment in offensive lineman Andy Dodd, the Tide wasted no time in picking up lost momentum with a pledge from four-star tight end and top 247 member Josh McNeil.

McNeil announced via Twitter that he had "news" he would share at midnight and confirmed his pledge to the Tide to become UA's 17th commitment of 2013.

"Fall 2013 I will be playing for Alabama #rolltide"

McNeil fills a big need for Alabama who was in the market for a traditional tight end who was a physical blocker, and McNeil fills that role.

McNeil picked the Tide over offers from Georgia, Auburn among others.

BOL will have more on this new commitment later.

Top TE in the country

& FTR there is a REASON we lost Dodd today to LSU, about to add Derrick Henry, and a certain HC likes the NASTY FACTOR of Kenneth Santa Marina better  Cheesy
27  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Camp going well & Reuben Foster info on: July 16, 2012, 07:54:46 AM
Tox, thanks.  Great job as always.  Quick question:  Could you estimate the number of recruits you think we'll sign in this class?  Thanks in advance.

It's looking more and more like a full class with 1 or 2 back counters/greyshirts, possible greyshirts are Johnathan Cook DB from Smiths Station (Deon Johnson's HS teammate, go watch film if you haven't seen, kid is a player) and possibly Walker Jones
28  Around Campus / The Quad / Camp going well & Reuben Foster info on: July 15, 2012, 08:56:23 PM
I wanna start with Foster stuff...get to that stuff 1st and then we'll be done with him

I heard quite a few more things today man they pulled out ALL the stops and had Foster flipped a few weeks ago and he was actually gonna come to campus this WE and of course we got word from OJ he was ALL AU and left to go over to UW and get a few extras like a goodie bag etc from them after he left Oregon

OJ said Maurice, even Matthew Thomas (who is a BAMA lock) and Tenpenny all bonded and and were all there to get better and the group from AU was a playful group, VERY disrespectful to coaches etc including Foster

anyway Bama told Foster not to go Dawgnight and what you heard, that it was time for him to "Stop going on visits and show his commitment" which was Saban who told him and STILL wanted him

anyway he told Saban he would show his commitment alright even told him he was flipping and he was lying for weeks and Saban told him "I know, when you moved to AuHS we knew that, we set you up for Oxford HS and you transferred to Auburn, you thought we didn't know that?" and that's why it seemed like such a quick and sudden thing apparently that little convo was RF telling Saban more than he was supposed to and getting heated etc anyway, I was told original plan was to drag BAMA along (AU's plan of course) as long as he could and it was obvious Saban wasn't gonna let it drag out much longer anyway, but RF's mom just closed on a house last week (quarter of a mil house, she makes 40 thou a yr at most) had a co-signer of course and there is much more)

also Yeldon statement was the plan all along, again was told SEVERAL times this whole situation took the cake and Saban knew what was going on but thought better of RF and hthought he had a level of maturity to stick with his commitment...

Saban expects every prospect committed to maintain that level of maturity and it is now obvious the bridges not just to RF but Lee County have been NAPALMED

The 2 big dog recruiters (Pruitt and LT) on staff take this as a missle shot at TTown basically meaning they feel like THIS MEANS WAR!!

Looking like we will finish out OL haul with Laremy Tunsil (You can thank Derrick HenryIF we land the 5 star OT it is down to us and UF and we have a sizable lead) and Kenneth Santa Marina (here this weekend staff likes him as a OG)

Will add Matthew Thomas, 5 star LB from Miami, Fl, Mom is the only thing keeping him from committing is Momma who hasn't ever visited Ttown OR AL for that matter but he is bringing him in and not shocked if he commits on that trip

Will add Derrick Henry, both RB commits have no problem knowing he will likely not end up at RB but rather at Hback (TE/FB hybrid)

High possibility we also add either Josh McNeil in Aug (high possibility) or Hunter Henry (expect him to go to Ark, family ties etc)

One we might get before the end of the Summer, but doubtful he pulls the trigger till NSD more likely Robert Foster, the Julio clone 5 star WR from Pa loves Bama and Julio's history here, we have a HUGE lead over Pitt and Ohio St, but he is bringing his WHOLE family the end of this month, they have never visited

High probability with our TE recruiting that we might see our 1st Jones brother (Walker Jones) on D as a LB, not sure if he will be a greyshirt or come in as a full commit yet

Demarcus Walker is also gonna commit soon before the end of the Summer, 4 star DE from Fla will be a monster with his speed (4.7) at his size (285)

We will likely add another LB and 1 or 2 DL possibilities are too many to name right now
