The Braves are enjoying a 2-1/2 game lead over the Phillies after winning 2 of 3 games this weekend.  Sunday's game was great.  The Braves stomped a mud-hole in the Phillies then walked it dry winning 15-1.

Wooot!!! How about the weekend series between the Padres and the Rockies; 92 total runs were scored between them.  Shocked
Wow!  I missed that one.  Who won that series?

Too bad the Dodgers didn't lose by that many total runs...

Sorry Doc... Wink

Sounds like they both lost.

That is the same as 105 to 7 in football!   Shocked Shocked

Atlanta beat Pittsburgh last night 8-7. The Phillies lost. The Braves are all alone in first place.

Whatever dude.  Been there, done that.  I won't be back on the Braves bandwagon until they actually WIN another World Series.

I bet if we had 100 members on here involved in picking the US Open winner, no one would have picked Gary Woodland. Koepka gave it a go, but Woodland was just too strong down the stretch.

Kudos to pmull for picking Koepka. He was the closest to Woodland.

Michigan, Vandy, Fla St and Miss St are the first round winners in the CWS. Miss St stomped on Auburn's soul last night by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to win 5-4.  Cool

I love it when that happens!

This is so sad for the kids. They now have to live with, and put up with the kids in school who can say hurtful things. If this guy is guilty he should be taken out pants removed and horse whipped with a plow line.
" Lips Sealed, moderators if this is to rough for our site then please remove."  Angry, This just upsets me! RTR!

Removing pants is not allowed by CRS. I believe horse whipping with a plow line is acceptable. SC to confirm.

The #8 seeding was idiotic, and our girls proved it.  It was also a disservice to Oklahoma, who had to play us 3 times and now has to go into the final series at a disadvantage.  It is critical to get the seeding right because it impacts ALL of the teams in the tournament.

Thanks 2.  Karen (MIL) got really sick the last time and actually wound up in the hospital for a few days with pneumonia.  She told Mrs. Nalt that she would do one more round of chemo and if it made her sick then she was stopping.  She is just past the 1/2 way mark of her chemo treatments so for her's and Mrs. Nalt's sake I hope she finishes the entire schedule... Time will tell though... Pray

Saw nine bears yesterday and got some pics. Iíll post them when I get to my motel tomorrow night or Thursday. Lots of snow here; some still falling. But yesterday had periods of warm sunshine, and I got sunburn. More later.

Ten Bears little brother?

Rule about a runner getting hit by a ball being out.

The ball is dead. The batter-runner is awarded first base (unless she is the one touched by the batted ball), and other runners advance only if forced. ... The runner is not out, however, if she is touched by a batted ball after it passes through or by an infielder (except the pitcher).

Coach Murphy thought the ball passed by UF first baseman before it hit the runner. It was not a reviewable play. The umps blew that call at a critical time.

I did not know the bold part of that rule.  It is a good addition since you expect that fielder to make a play and stop the ball, and even if they don't they at least had the opportunity to do so without any interference.

Good morning folks.  Short day for me today to make room for a long day tomorrow.  I'm flying out to Colorado Springs, CO to fill in for a co-worker who is going on vacation next week.  Looking forward to it with the exception of the cooler temps.  I had thought that I had put my flannel shirts away for good but NOOOo.  Angry

Have a great trip, NALT. Tell Joe Kenda I said Hi.  Cool

Careful, he might say "NALT, you're coming with me."

Wow I would give us a score 98-0 on this guy coming here. OH, shoot, I remember those numbers from somewhere else one time but my memory escapes me. lol, RTR!

You will see it again in about 3 months.

Good morning folks.  Beautiful here... Sorry you got bad news this morning Doc...

Yeah, really.  Let us know, HL, if this is prayer-requiring news.

Sounds more like a Dilbert cartoon.  Was the email from the PHB?

A much needed win for the team. I think Coach Bo is getting about as much out of this team as he can.

A look back at how we got from an elite program to where are are now.

Coach Jim Wells took over a good but not elite program in 1995 from Shollenberger. Wells coached for 15 years with a record of 625-322 (.659 %). He won 5 SEC Championships. We made 12 Regionals, 5 Super Regionals and 3 World Series appearances. The program was beginning to slip in 2008 when he announced his retirement. Mal Moore talked him in to staying and that only lasted one year. Wells retired in 2009 as the winningest coach in Alabama Baseball history.

Coach Wells lobbied for and helped get his former top assistant Mitch Gaspard the job. Gaspard was a good man that was liked by everyone. He started out good winning the Georgia Tech Regional and Advancing to the Super Regional where we were 1 out away from the World Series. Gaspard coached 7 season with a record of 234-193. He earned 4 Regional berths and one Super Regional. The program was consistently middle of the pack SEC and had become stagnant. we did not make a Regional his last two years. Gaspard resigned at the end of the 2016 season.

Greg Goff was hired by Bill Battle and it turned out to be one of the worst hires for any sport in the school's history. He went 19-34-1 and lost the team in the process. Players were quitting the team and transferring just trying to get out. New AD Greg Byrne fired him after one season. In one season the team went from Mid- SEC to dead last. The RPI fell to 175 and 19 wins. Both worst in modern school history.

Coach Bo was hired to re-built and start the 2018 season. He inherited a mess. He was hired after the recruiting season and was only able to add a few players, mostly JUCO transfers. The team went 27-29 (8-22 SEC) and finished with a RPI of 82. This was his first season to recruit. He has a reputation of being a top recruiter. He brought in 22 new players being freshmen and JUCO transfers. He recruited nation wide bringing kids in from as far away as California. The team is currently 27-20 (6-17 SEC) with an RPI of 43. They are much improved from last year. It also needs to be pointed out that the SEC is the strongest top to bottom I have ever seen. Nine SEC teams are in the Top 25.

We need to give Coach Bo time. He has a Top 20 recruiting class committed for next year. The team is playing hard. This is not a quick fix project.

Great post!
