16  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Saban tests negative for covid, may be back for Georgia game. on: October 16, 2020, 04:15:54 PM

Nick Saban isn’t being ruled out for the Georgia game just yet.

The University of Alabama on Friday released a statement saying Saban tested negative for COVID-19 on Thursday after getting the positive test Wednesday.

“For clarification, the initial positive result came from an outside lab we’ve used to supplement the SEC mandated testing.” Alabama head athletics trainer Jeff Allen said in a statement released Friday afternoon. “He will continue to remain in isolation and receive daily PCR tests. Should he have three negative PCR tests through the SEC appointed lab, each 24 hours apart, the initial test would be considered a false positive pursuant to SEC protocols and he would be allowed to return.”

Are we going to to replace the Florida/LSU game?

What is wrong with this game? RTR!
Florida out of an abundance of caution wiil not play!
Florida had 21 players test positive for COVID. With required quarantines, that put Florida down to 51 scholarship players available for the LSU game. NCAA/SEC rules require 55 scholarship players be available to hold a game. So Florida couldn't qualify to play even if they wanted to.

Good morning.  Panic

Modem supposed to arrive this morning. The AT&T rep promised we’d have it in 24 hours; that would’ve been Saturday. Grrr. We’re getting a new service ASAP.

Great to see JT come back and win in Memphis yesterday. That’s two weeks in a row that Bama boys were the winner!  Sweet.

Braves won again; 5 in a row now. Pinch me!

Heard it was over 90 in Yellowstone yesterday. Wildfire season is coming.

Glad you had a good weekend, 2.
I hope they aren't using the U.S. Postal Service. New U.S. Postmaster is intentionally slowing deliveries down. I've had a couple of small packages, from Bessemer to Huntsville, take 5 days to get here, when they were promised "next day."

His son Bear Updyke told AL.com that his father died Thursday afternoon of natural causes in Louisiana, where he had been living. He was 71.

Man this seems to mess up a lot of games. RTR!

If we have any games at all I'll be surprised.  ANY AT ALL.   Sad

I'm afraid you may be correct, Chech.  But I haven't given up hope.

No, there's still a chance.  But it's looking worse every day.

I just heard that about 50 Ole Miss students tested positive already, and they aren't even back for classes yet.  And a bunch of people at the local Veteran's Home here tested positive, and 2 died this week. The hospitals here are already crowded.  The hospitals may decide whether students can have on-campus classes this semester.

So that's where they have been getting their recruits... It is all starting to make sense now...

They ain't recruiting me. RTR!
They'd win more games if they did.
22  Around Campus / The Quad / SEC Close to Conference Only Schedule on: July 30, 2020, 11:54:06 AM
According to SI.COM

Quote
The SEC is moving closer to an agreement on a conference-only schedule of 10 games, multiple sources told Sports Illustrated. During a virtual meeting on Wednesday, a majority of athletic directors approved the idea of an SEC-only, 10-game schedule. However, the schedule must be ratified by league presidents. SEC presidents are expected to meet virtually Thursday to seriously discuss the matter. It is unclear if they will vote then or delay a decision until next week.

Hey Josh Primo picked us I seen it on Twitter and FB. RTR!
Exciting news!

He might be one and done, but he'll be Bama's one and done.
24  Around Campus / Ferguson Student Center / Re: Bison hunt near Yellowstone National Park - not a "hunt" at all. on: March 23, 2020, 06:48:40 AM
I can't adjust to calling a buffalo a bison. Or Indian to Native American. Or Eskimo to Inuit.

Wait until you learn that some individuals prefer to be addressed as "they."   Laughing

Sorry you're not sleeping well, Chech. I go through some of those stretches too.

2 topics for me today; work and work.  Undecided

Thanks buddy.  Toast 2

I've already listed 2 knives on Ebay today.  BTW, should you need a knife, or if you just want to be entertained by witty marketing strategies, look up Chech's EBay site.  Guess what, his EBay name is "chechem".

easier said than done  Huh?

Hey ricky, I asked the Drake, but he said no.

When the weather clears and heats up the virus will go away. RTR!

That published somewhere?  Last I heard they "hoped" it would be so.

How this virus responds to warmer weather HAS NOT been verified.  Warm weather may have zero effect or it could contain it.  No one knows right now.

I'm taking bets if you're interested.
This virus seems highly contagious, probably because of its "novel" nature, no fully developed immunity to it yet.

Isn't one of the main considerations with weather the fact that people are more likely to be in enclosed spaces/indoors together?

Anyway, I think we're just going to have to wait it out like everyone else.

28  Around Campus / Ferguson Student Center / Re: ***CRIMSON RED DAILY THREAD*** on: March 13, 2020, 06:16:52 AM

I haven't heard about spring practice, but I assume it's cancelled too.  Anybody heard?

I have a knife show starting today.  I didn't pack the car yet; waiting to hear if it's a go.  I've got my hand sanitizer ready and everything.

Alabama has closed its campus and will transition to online classes post Spring Break, which is this upcoming week.

No specific word on football or A-Day.

Bring all your hand sanitizer and toilet paper -- you could make a killing.

Quote
Student spring break is extended until March 30 as UA transitions to remote learning. After Friday, March 13, The University of Alabama will extend spring break for students through Sunday, March 29, to allow additional time for instructors to transition to alternative teaching resources. Remote instruction will resume Monday, March 30.

Looks like all Bama sporting events will be fan-less through March 30. No word yet on the A Day game in April.

We're already got that covered.  Moved to Oct 3 in Oxford, MS.

Bama A-Team vs. Bama practice squad.
