So why would a talented prospect pick Clemson over a place where LBs have a demonstrated fast lane to the NFL?
Just wondering if we are missing something.
I heard that he has a couple of friends in Clemson. Also, Dabo is a heck of a recruiter, and he was on his recruiting trip this past weekend, so he could have been caught up in the moment. I am like everyone else: I don't expect this to stick. I believe he might change his mind when he comes to Bama in a couple of weeks. I guess we will see. With Clemson's defense, he is guaranteed early playing time. |

At 6-foot-3/215 lbs, he isn't quite as big as some of the LBs, but you never know how a kid is going to grow and develop once he gets into a college strength and conditioning program. Especially at Alabama. Saban wisely recruits athletes and finds their best fit -- like the article says, this kid could end up at safety or HBack. Welcome to the Tide!

14. Vanderbilt: One of second-year Vanderbilt coach James Franklin’s priorities was to upgrade the Commodores’ facilities, and he’s going to get his wish. Vanderbilt Stadium is getting a new field this season. A new locker room and team meeting room are being built at the McGugin Center, and an indoor practice facility is also on the way and will be in place by 2014. Good to Vandy finally using some of that SEC money on its facilities. |

Yes I saw this on Bleacher Report but I know not many people hold with their topics so I didn't post. Now, on the good side, I don't know when he is going to commit, but I do believe when he signs that National Letter of Intent we will have him. Here goes CNS again. His expertise in FBI, (FootBall Intelligence.) RTR!
Agreed. The rumor was that Saban was recruiting this guy as a LB because of his size (6'3" 240 lbs. as a junior in HS). But Saban confirmed to him that they would recruit him as a RB. It is hard to tell from film how he would fare as a RB. in college and beyond. He is a man among boys in H.S. -- too big and powerful for them to bring down; noticeably bigger than the defensive players trying to tackle him. And he appears to have decent speed for his size, 40 time is listed at 4.58 secs. Definitely an elite athlete. Let's hope he picks Bama. |

Been back-packing in the Amazon? Coming off a 3 day drinking binge? Captured by Aliens and just escaped their UFO? Made a wrong turn on Interstate and ended up in Arkansas at the filming of Deliverance 2?  All of the above except the last one.  Nah, I've just been away from the tv and news. I heard a little about this yesterday afternoon, but didn't follow up on it until early this morning. True enough. Deliverance was filmed on the Chatooga River, on the Georgia-South Carolina border. I've been rafting on that river... didn't hear any banjos though. |

After watching Arkansas beat Baylor the last two games of their 3 game series, I have to pull for the Hogs. There's no way they should have won those two games but they found a way to win.  Yep, I watched Arkansas somehow beat Baylor last night. It was the 10th inning, and the first inning all game that Arkansas got its lead off batter on first base. Great pitching and defense, some mistakes by Baylor, and finally a little small ball, got that victory. USCe has to face Florida next. They beat Florida last year to win it all. This year Florida is favored, but I will be rooting for USCe, because who really wants Florida to get another championship. |

I think it is a good idea. If they do it the player must be a 4th year junior that has already graduated and declared for the draft. For example Donta Hightower would have been eligible last year but Trent Richardson would not have been.
I would agree with this limitation. Otherwise I think it is a bad idea and sends the wrong message -- if a player is good enough to declare for the draft after his junior year he shouldn't have to try to make a name for himself in the Senior Bowl, if he isn't good enough he should stick around for his senior season. Good insight pmull. |

P.S. By the way, I'm not too happy with our baseball coach right now.  Yeah, and I had high hopes for him too. P.S. Isn't his season over already? Everyone was so enthused when he was hired as coach, what has happened? Do you have any info or friends down there? It seems the wheels have come off the program overnight. This has been such a steady program for years and now we can't even make the SEC Tourney. I don't have inside information, but looks like a pitching issue to me, especially relief pitching. |
