How about this for some tough D numbers that RG has faced:
These are their total D rankings:
TCU  #47
Stephen F Austin give me a break
Rice  #113
KSU   #77
ISU  #99
T A&M  #76
OSU  #105
Missouri  #80
Kansas  #120  last place
OU  #62

Throw out SFA and the average ranking is 86.5.
3632  Around Campus / The Quad / Has college football now come to win on: November 22, 2011, 02:02:51 PM
Has college football come to the win no matter what?  The best two examples I can give are Jo Pa and Jim Tressell(sp).  These were two of the most respected men in college football.  I am not comparing what JT did as to what JP covered up, but was winning so important that they looked the other way?  Too me JP has lost more respect than any coach could.  The ideas of wins, passing people didn't matter, goes completely out the door.

I think the conf you are in would be a factor.  I do like Mike Gundy, but not sure he could cut it in the SEC.  I can't go with Mile just because of what I know about him and how he treated Colt David.

If you were hiring a college head coach who would you go after and why?  To make it more interesting CNS is off the table.
3635  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Arenas and Gilberry! on: November 22, 2011, 10:57:51 AM
New England has 13 SEC players on their roster and KC has 16 if my counts are correct.

KC took this guy over Brodie, why?
3637  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Arenas and Gilberry! on: November 21, 2011, 09:06:33 PM
Numerous SEC players playing tonight.
3638  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Alabama Football Team to Receive Disney Spirit Award on: November 21, 2011, 03:19:03 PM
Shouldn't they give it to one of those Big 12 teams that run the Mickey Mouse defense?

How can you even compare that, MM is tougher.
3639  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Derrick Thomas and Cornelius Bennett question... on: November 21, 2011, 01:22:48 PM
At the time they played they were "big" for their size.  Also, since then weight training has improved drastically.  I am sure they would meet the standards today if they were playing in this era.  What is JH size?
3640  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Derrick Thomas and Cornelius Bennett question... on: November 21, 2011, 11:54:12 AM
I agree both could play in his scheme.
3641  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: GS vs Bama game notes: on: November 21, 2011, 09:47:35 AM
One thing we are overlooking here is that the scout team could not possibly have given our D a good full speed look that matched the level of execution that GS has mastered over the course of their season.  Those guys were recruited to run the triple option, and they probably have been running it since they were in peewee.  Our scout team had to basically go out there and start running the triple option on the first day of practice with no time to prepare in advance.  There is no way the scout team executed anywhere near the level of GS.  It took us a little while to get used to the speed of their execution in the first half, then we began to play much better on D as the game went along.

Also we were way down the depth chart on D-Line because of the suspensions and sickness.  I don't think the dive play would have been that successful for them if we had our normal lineup in there.  I believe a freshman was in there and missed his assignment when they broke the long run.  Mark Baron fell down on the pass TD.  So overall I was happy with how we played.

Very good point about the scout team.  Looks too me some of those Fres need to lose a little and gain some muscle.
3642  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: "Alabama 'looking for full redemption' as it prepares for Auburn" on: November 21, 2011, 09:14:23 AM
Bama has play assingment football all year long.  I don't expect that to change.  I would be suprised if AU scores on a trick play this year.
3643  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: So Alabama has to root for LSU? on: November 21, 2011, 09:12:17 AM
Would this be the first time two teams from the same conference play for a NC?  Since the start of the BCS it will continue to show the dominance of the SEC in college football.
3644  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Ex QB: on: November 20, 2011, 10:57:46 PM
Good, I hope he continues to play.
3645  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Ex QB: on: November 20, 2011, 10:52:40 PM

better at football but picked up for baseball then life slapped him square in
the mouth ... good to see it's working out for Richard .
hope he does well !

Last time I saw him he had matured and grown.  I wish him the best.
