I am so sorry for all of his close friends here, and the Bama nation.  What I posted over at Woolly;

Oh man, that's terrible! He's up there fishing beside one of God's streams now, standing with a complete body. I pray for his family, especially his father who has lost his little buddy.

Man, I hate today.

 :(

I am so sorry. Thoughts and prayers to his friends and family. It's awful that he had to leave and be with God.

But he sure did leave a whole lot of guts, determination, and inspiration with us.

Thanks Tazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been a lurker for a very long time, first at TS and then here.  I had to come in and say it feels as though I have been gut punched.  I enjoyed keeping up with Taz and all his buddies, and loved the flipping frog.  I will miss both .

Rest in peace, Taz, and may God hold your family in the hollow of his hand.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Ps. 147-3

Crap, I had no idea he was so sick, since I mainly stick to sports. I thought he was a young person (under 40). He seemed like a good person. What a waste.

I can't believe it. So many years Taz and his jumping frog brought joy with his morning greetings. One of our bright lights has gone out and we are the poorer for it. My good blessings go to Taz and condolences to his family and close friends.

What a sad day this is.  I enjoyed the times we spent together.  Taz was a dear, kind, and sweet guy.  My wife was with me the last time I saw him, and he never failed to ask about her when we talked.

I'm gona miss my little buddy, but he wont ever have to use that wheelchair again.  I pray for peace and comfort for the family and especially "uncle Billy".

When I last visited TAZ last Thursday he was so upbeat and we talked about many things, mostly sports, but most of all he was trying to find a menu for Jimmy Johns because he said he was growing tired of the hospital food. It was a fun visted and I'm so glad my last visit with him was this.

He was experiencing some kidney problems when he entered the hospital but the doctors thought this might be a temporary thing and he would be on his way home after a few days stay. I talked with his sister this morning and she said that the kidney problem became more serious for him.

TAZ was a young man, his sister told me he was 37, and he just loved people. Even though he was restricted is so many ways, spina bifida, he was very active. He loved Alabama sports to the max and attended as many games as he possibly could. One of his favorite things in life was going to the Quad on game day to see his internet friends that may have come to the game. He loved to go fishing as well. He and I talked last Thursday about him getting out of the hospital so he could go fishing, his relatives had just caught some big bass and he was very antsy to go home and get on the lake.

I'll miss my "little buddy" for he was a very special person to me, to accomplish so many things in his short, he just amazed me. He recently told me that he once played wheel chair rugby and that just blew me away. He was small in stature but had a heart as big as Texas and that was reflected on the sports forums and facebook as so many knew. He told me last Thursday he was very anxious to get back home so he could  talk with all his friends .

My thoughts and prayers go out to TAZ's family and all of his friends, RIP "little buddy," I will miss you.

Even though I never got to meet Taz in person, I am glad that he got to see the Tide win another title before he left this world. In the grand scheme of things, such worldly pleasures do not compare even a flicker to the joy he is experiencing now in heaven, but I have to imagine he was just as happy as the rest of us were back on January 9.

I'm new here so forgive me if this information was already posted.  Wanted to make sure you had it.

Another message from his family concerning arrangements:

The family of Patrick Hubbard wanted you to know that we have made final arrangements. The visitation will be on Wednesday, March 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brent Baptist Church in Brent, AL. The funeral will be on March 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Brent Baptist. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Cemetary, also in Brent. We want this to be a celebration of his life. For those of you that are "Bama" fans, please wear your Alabama clothing in honor of the "Number 1" Bama fan.

My parents are still trying to decide on charitable organizations. I will send an update on this at a later time. I also wanted to let you know that Mike Bolton will be doing a special article on Patrick in Sunday's "Birmingham News". Please be sure to check it out.

We have certainly appreciated all of your kind comments and pictures that you have posted on his page. I have laughed and cried reading many of them. This facebook experience is new to me and I am so amazed by all of your responses. Please continue to share your thoughts of Patrick, as I am sure it will be a comfort to my parents in the days to follow.

Again, words cannot express what your friendship has meant to Patrick over the years. We think he made it as long as he did because of all of you. Things are hard to understand, but we must rejoice in the fact that God has given Patrick that perfect body he could only dream about. Seeing how he faced day-to-day challenges has always made me thankful of the health that my family and I have.

Please continue to pray for our family. If any of you need to contact us, you may contact me on my cell (205) ***-****.

Sincerely,
Kendel Johnson (sister)

From his facebook page:

On behalf of Patrick Hubbard's family...
We request that any monetary donations be made in Patrick's memory to the following:
Brent Baptist Church Building Fund
or
Ridgeville Church of the Nazarene in Brent, Alabama

Again, thank you for all of your prayers and support. We look forward to meeting many of you tonight. Don't forget to wear your Bama clothing for Patrick.

Sincerely,
Kendel Johnson (sister)

His funeral was truly touching, his casket was the most beautiful shade of Crimson and there was houndstooth, script A's everywhere. They played a slideshow of pictures from Patrick's life and the majority were of him sitting beside Denny Chimes holding court with many of our old Tidesports friends. That man touched so many lives and lived a life I can only envy. I am very honored to be one of Taz's many friends. Roll Tide my friend!

Taz , o'man ... you know ... everyone loved him

my Mom passed away last night , Lord rest her soul .

so today I'm over at her house checking on my step dad .
they were married for 54 years and he isn't taking it to well
the Pastor came by to console him so me and my sister went outside to
give them some time ...

as I mentioned before , my Mom was in a wheelchair too
and loved Alabama football , she sat in the wheelchair section at games .

me and sis are talking and I mentioned Patrick passing and how I
would have loved to have met him when we took Mom up to a game
and about how that isn't ever to going to happen now ...

when sis says ... Patrick ? "you mean Taz ?"
I was floored , how did you know Taz I asked ?

well as it turns out they knew each other and I had no clue
sis had been to the WC section with Mom but I hadn't
matter of fact we never got to BDS at the same time together
which I am really regretting about right now ,

anyway , they had met Taz up there some how
and sis knows nothing about my online message forum life
so it was really cool to find out that two great BAMA fans knew
each other like that ...

ROLL TIDE Taz
and ROLL TIDE to My Mom , Ms. Terry

I miss my Mom already ... a lot  , it's been rough here lately guys ...

loved her ... the out poor has been awesome ....

X, Sorry for your loss but thankful for the wonderful memories you have of your mother.  Time will ease the pain, but you will never stop missing her.  Take it from somone who lost a mother 25 years ago.

Terry

I miss my Mom already ... a lot  , it's been rough here lately guys ...
on the WWW and at home too http://obits.al.com/obituaries/mobile/obituary.aspx?pid=156779201

I am so saddened to learn of your loss and my thoughts and prayers will be with you. That is a wondeful story of your mom and Taz and I know they are sharing their many stories with each other now. May God's blessings be with all of you.

X, Sorry for your loss but thankful for the wonderful memories you have of your mother.  Time will ease the pain, but you will never stop missing her.  Take it from somone who lost a mother 25 years ago.

My prayer for you and your family is that you find peace and comfort in this time of grief and sorrow.
My folks are 90+ and still living. Bless their hearts. But the woman's folks have been dead for some time and she said something that may make sense to you guys. She said the loss of her parents left her feeling a void as far as being grounded is concerned. HTH.

thanks Jamos , funny how things work out sometimes

I'm going to talk some more to sis today

she went up to Moms store last night and was just setting there
in her car , same thing I did earlier in the day
people just started stopping  before long the parking lot was full
same thing that happened to me that afternoon
one guy even followed me to her house to see my step dad

maybe  because they were BIG BAMA FANS in wheelchairs
people loved them , I don't know .
I had no idea it was as many people as it is until now ....

ROLL TIDE YA'LL

I got one of the worst days ever ahead of me
wish me luck ....

I sure have missed Taz this season, it's just not the same as it used to be. It was always so much fun to share our armchair quarterbacking before and after the games. I just wonder how many football fans have been converted to Bama fans since Taz's arrival in heaven. ;)

Roll Tide "little buddy"!!

I was thinking about Taz this past Saturday during the LSU game.  He would have been absolutely thrilled watching Derrick Henry and Co. put a beat-down on Fournette and his team... Sure do miss Old Taz...

Taz had the best seat in the house; right next to Coach Bryant.
