Oklahoma State, No. 2 in the BCS rankings and the only team standing between No. 1 LSU and the No. 3 Tide, lost in double-overtime to the Cyclones.

Just like that, Bama, after having lost to LSU just two weeks ago, is likely just two wins away from a spot in the BCS national championship game on Jan. 9 in New Orleans. Maybe three wins away if LSU stumbles against Arkansas and Bama ends up in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.

Just two days ago, Nick Saban was asked about Bama's national title chances.

"We have to take care of our business from here on out and do the best we can do, but someone else is going to have to help us," the Bama head coach said. "One team's going to have to lose that's ahead of us in some way, shape or form between now and the end of the season for us to get any consideration for that, but there's certainly a possibility."
