Title: Question:
Post by: hscoach on November 08, 2022, 01:11:28 PM
Does anyone else think that if Kiffen or Sark were still the offensive coordinator Bama would be undefeated?

That is without a DOUBT! RTR!

Hard to beat all the mistakes and bad calls in the UT game, but maybe better play calling would have gotten us closer for the winning FG or at least run out the clock to push it to OT. I think we would have beat LSU, although I still question whether Bryce's shoulder has totally healed, and was that an issue.

Would they have had the OL and receivers coached up better? I would think so if they were hands on with them.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I stated already that I believe that if we had Kiffin as OC, and Kirby as DC, Bama would be riding an undefeated streak that would span 2+ seasons.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...

No offense, but why postulate on it?   They aren't coming back from head coaching positions.   Alabama isn't the only team that could be made better by hopes and dreams.

Never said they were coming back.  What I was referring to was the way they called games.

I don't think any of us find the play calling to be inventive or dynamic this year.   But then again, it's sometimes hard to tell when the execution just stinks (also coaching to extent).   I've seen Latu ruin many plays this year with ineffective blocking, or just flat out missing any block whatsoever.

I watched several NFL games this past weekend, and the play calling was much like ours.  Most NFL teams throw the ball most effectively on short patterns, and running plays seldom gain more than a few yards.  That seems to be the trend.  The sets used are like ours too.  It's the times, I guess.

As for Latu, I've noticed him missing blocks also.  Our players in motion often miss assignments it seems.  I'm sure it's the individuals, not the scheme, but it's worrisome.

Well it looks like we might make it to the Independence Bowl maybe. RTR!

Latu has missed blocks as well as other receivers on the wide receiver screens.  I also notice the use of motion is different.  I don't think they have run the pop pass that was effective.  If they have, it has been very few times. Even how they use to use the play action off of the pop pass has an effect on the defense.   It seems to me, evrytime they motion behind the back that player becomes the check down route, not hard to defend.

My question is how do we get Saban to fire the OC and DC and find some of the old people we had when we were winning. Does Saban not see this? RTR!
