The basketball team has a tough one tonight on the road at 20th ranked Arkansas.  We blew the doors off them in Tuscaloosa back in January (90-59), but since then, Arkansas has won 7 straight conference games.   So they've been playing well, and will be looking to avenge that blowout loss.

It will be tough but, we can get it done if we play sound BB and not wait till the 2nd half to show up like we did against Mizz. RTR!

We are a 2-pt underdog and Arkansas has a 53% chance of winning, according to ESPN's fancy computer algorithm.

This is a big game.  To me it's a tourney level game in its importance.  Arky is much better than they were earlier in the season.  How much better is the Tide?

The whole team needs to be ready to rumble from the opening tip-off, and especially the leaders on the team.

I think we have to come out strong at the start of the game & not fall behind by 8-12 points in the first 5-7 minutes of the game.

Starters tonight: Bruner, Primo, Shackelford, Petty, & Jones. A little surprised to see Bruner start since his stamina might be limited. They might want him in there for his size.

Arky 29-19 with 5 minutes left. Quinerly scores 2, 29-21 Arky. 12 fouls on Tide, 8 on Arky. Too many for less than a half. Petty for 3, 31-24 Arky. Another foul on Tide, that’s 13.

33-29 Arky after 2 consecutive 3’s by Tide. 2:25 left in half. Arky 10/17 FT’s, thank goodness. We make a good play, then throw a bonehead pass for a steal by Arky & a score and foul on Tide. 36-29 Arky.

Sorry I didn’t post any after first half but I went to work out ay gym (PT). I did listen to the game on my cell phone and it was ugly. Hard to win a game when you have the other team and the officials against you. Can anyone explain how Arky took 43 free throws and the Tide took 8? I have been watching basketball since 1968 and I have never seen such a disparity in free throws. Plus, Arkansas has a reputation for for aggressive, physical play but played almost foul free. Gimme a break.

The TV announcers even mentioned it: "the officiating has certainly been a factor."

We need to improve our mental toughness.  We kind of came unglued toward the end.  Regardless of what is going on, you have to stay composed and keep playing.

Arkansas played rugby, and somehow they still got the calls.

I hate when Doug Shows' crew refs our games.   If any of you walk your dog today, FedEx his business to Shows please.

I am not sure why CNO didn't play this game under protest against the ref's? RTR!

Just saw where Bama was outscored at the FT line 27-3. Really? I didn't even see the game, but that's not even believable.  :-\

Well, we all know when we hear complaints about refs: only when we lose. 
This one was so obvious even an idiot could see it (no offense 2 -  :lol2: ).

Arkansas went to the FT line 35 times more than we did. They went 43 to our 8. I don't to complain about ref's but this was terrible. Arkansas played better than we did but the ref's, not Arkansas, took us out of the game.

Because you can not protest bad officials. If that was allowed every basketball game would be protested by the losing team.

EXACTLY. Hard to get in a playing rhythm when every 30 seconds or so the refs are blowing their whistles on Bama. I definitely don’t get into conspiracy theories but something is definitely wrong when a team like Arkansas commits so few fouls while the Tide has three players foul out. Gross incompetence by refs for sure. I have to believe that our AD called the SEC Office to raise a ruckus (I hope).
