We need to start off our SEC schedule with a win. We have a murderous start to the conference schedule where it looks like all the best teams have been front loaded. Here’s who we play early on:

Ole Miss
Tennessee
Florida
Auburn
Kentucky (at UK)
Arkansas
LSU

I wonder if the Auburn AD put this schedule together for us.

Well I know a new coach ain't gonna do very well in the SEC till he get a couple of years of his own players on board. RTR!

I remember us seeming to have a pretty rough 6-8 game stretch last year as well.  Hopefully this team gels and Oats makes his point about playing time being dependent on effort on both ends of the court.

My biggest concern is can we hit 3 pointers.

Herb Jones on bench after 2 fouls in first minute of game. Team playing good without him, so far.

43-32 Tide at Half

Tide has signed 1 5* & 2 4* for 2021. We lose at least 6 players next year, Petty, Jones, Resse, Barnes, Wall & Bruner. Returning (I hope) are Shackleford, Primo, Quinerly, Rojas, Tchikou (not sure about keeping him). Once again, we will have a young team.

Some may come back since I don't think this year counts eligibility wise.

Jones has 4 fouls early in 2nd half. 53-43 Tide. Rojas just got a technical. Ole Miss hits both shots. Both teams getting sloppy. Rojas gets a foul. 53-45 Tide.

It is good to get that 1st conference win. We have to win at home, which we did. Scoring was pretty spread around. We shot 43% for the game and 32% on three pointers. We were only 58% on FT's. FT shooting must improve or it will cost us a few wins. 18 point win against a SEC is a game that we lead from start to finish is a good start to the SEC season.

There was only one other SEC game last night. SEC beat A&M 77-54. The Kentucky vs South Carolina game was postponed due to USCe COVID 19 issues.

Four SEC games tonight.

Miss St at UGA 6:00 SECN
Ark at Auburn 6:00 ESPN2
#7 UT at #12 Mizzou 8:00 SECN
UF at Vandy 8:00 ESPN2

Sorry I missed this one MD. I saw the final score and thought it was a lot better than I thought after the loses we have made. We have a long ways to go but just how good is Ole Miss? RTR!

OM built their resume on an easy schedule as they played one tough team, Dayton.  Bama has played a tougher schedule and that is what the coach wanted to prepare them for the tough SEC.

Now, back by popular demand, well really pmull, it’s:

THE GOOD

11 different Tide players scored
Tide had 54 bench points
18 second chance points (Ole Miss 9)
Tide scored 82 points
Tide held OM t0 34% FG shooting

THE BAD

Tide had only 14 offensive rebounds, OM 19

AND THE UGLY

Tide 14/24 FT 58%

Free throw shooting started out strong this year but it is relapsed to our normal high 50%. Not acceptable. It needs to be above 70%.

Our rebounding is weak. Guards getting most of our rebounds. We need better big man play. We are a soft team IMO.

When we shoot well we can play with anyone.
