So far, we look awful and overmatched. Furman shooting 75%, made numerous steals resulting in layoffs. Early in game it’s 29-14 Furman.

Alabama D must step up. Too many uncontested shots by Bama. Furman shooting 62%, Tide 40%.

Never would have believed this after the first half.  Some players need to sit and watch if they are not going to play hard on both ends.

Terrible first half. We played much better in the 2nd half. Our defense and rebounding in the 2nd half was solid. We also fouled out their best player with 8:00 to go. Jones had a double double and Rojas played his best game scoring in double figures. CNO subbed until he found a group of 5 players willing to play hard on both ends of the floor. Rojas energy made a difference.

We have to get better.

Well the part about both ends of the floor should give him his starting 5 so we should play them. Practice should be for those 5 players. RTR!

Surprised to see the 83-80 win this morning.  I went to sleep at half.

Surprised to see the 83-80 win this morning.  I went to sleep at half.

I was too upset (pizzed off) to sleep. The 2nd half was much different. I bet you were expecting a 20 point loss. The 2nd half comeback was fun to watch.

They said during the game last night only 1500 were allowed to enter the coliseum and watch the game. 10% of capacity.

Covid capacity.  Limits the number allowed in the game.

Yeah, reading Oats' comments, it sounds like he's trying to send a message about energy on the D end.  Finally found 5 guys in the second half that wanted to put out both ways.

No doubt that Herb Jones and Rojas are the heroes of the game. Jones was scoring, rebounding, blocking shots, and playing defense. Tired of hearing about how great a shooter Petty is. He was 0-6 on 3 pointers, 2/9 overall and he threw up some ugly bricks. At least he had 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Rojas played only 20 minutes and scored 11 points (all in 2nd half), 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. I think he plays more than 20 minutes in the next game.

Reese was also a disappointment.  Pretty sure he didn't see as much time in the second half.  Defensive rotation was poor in the first half, a lot better in the second half.  If you want to play, earn your time.  Some of those returners look they they think they are entitled to playing time.  Hopefully, the message was clear.

Oats was fairly complimentary about Petty.  He said he shot poorly, which happens, but stayed engaged and played hard otherwise.   Some shooters just zone out if their shots aren't falling, so he was at least happy about that.

Herb is a live wire always.  He isn't the biggest offensive threat, but he's willing to give 100% and do all the "dirty" jobs every day.

Why did Juwan Gary not play much? Was he lazy on defense? He played 8 minutes and scored 10. I’m thinking he replaced someone like Reese and helped us win in the 2nd half.
