Title: Dabo
Post by: Red Elephant on December 14, 2019, 08:01:14 AM
I just saw on ABC Sports Dabo talking about their #3 ranking.  He said it’s the first time since 1966 that a team won the national title and went undefeated the following season only to be ranked #3 at the end of the regular season.  We all know who that team was.

Yep. The only difference is, we didn't get the chance to improve our position.

Dabo has been using this line with reporters for the past few weeks to paint his team as the underappreciated, disrespected underdog.

He's speaking directly to his players -- MOTIVATION.

(Probably a lesson he learned from watching Saban.)

All this talk distracts from the fact that Vegas has Clemson as a 2 point favorite over Ohio State.

I didn't know Clemson was a 2 point favorite.  Maybe its that Clemson players have been in this game and Ohio State players have not.  That might be worth a few points.

I would like to see Ohio State lose this game, but I don't think they will.

RE I also think osu will win because of their defense. I hope Clemson because of Dabo being a Bama man but they probably won't. RTR!

Clemson's D may be the best in the country. I think they beat tOSU fairly easily.

The best in the country against Wake Forest, Virginia, South Carolina, NC State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, etc.?

You're right, Ohio State has completely shut down all those mighty teams in the Laughable 10.  :eyeroll:

We'll see how they play with that 2x4 on their shoulder.

I have said all year that ranking doesn't matter. Win and you're in. That statement stands. Clemson is in and as long as they continue to win they are still in the hunt. I hope the final is Oklahoma vs.  Clemson myself. That way, no matter what,  a Bama guy will be the National champion

Even though he left I would love to see Jalen in the NCG. RTR!

I might catch heck for this, but I have grown tired of Dabo's whining. I used to think it would be great for him to take over when Saban retired, but no longer. His act grinds on me.

I have to admit that I feel the same way. Of course a lot of it has to do with me living in the middle of Clemson country where I hear all this crap over and over again.

Don't you think he saw CNS doing this in the media and Dabo took it up from there. RTR!

That's how it looks to me.  He's not really whining, he's putting on a show for his players' benefit.

He might not be quite as good at it as Saban, but I have to give him credit, the Roy Bus was genius last year, and he's all to happy to play that record again this year.
