Found this site over on Rant.  Pretty good info.

Classy statement from Coach Peterson.

That's the word here.  I'd like to see that.

Latest word in this link is that FSU 'powerbrokers' met with James Franklin.  I'd like to see that.  A strong FSU would give Clemson one real conf game each year.

He just might be a good fit there. Would be interesting to see.

Franklin is from Pennsylvania.  Interesting that he would jump from PSU to FSU, a lateral move.  He's got his players at PSU.  Although the State of Florida is filled with talent, FSU is a dumpster fire.

Maybe I'm not being fair to him, but I don't see Franklin being successful at FSU.  Penn State was an easy job to build back, but I don't see that at FSU.

FSU had a press conference scheduled for Tuesday, but suddenly cancelled it.  Sounds like their choice of coaches fell through.

Did PSU pony up a counter offer??

 :tinfoil:
I saw that.  I hope it is fake.  Leach in the SEC (as long as it isn't at Bama) would be bad news for the conference.  Well, if he were at Bama it would still be bad news for the SEC but I wouldn't care then...

1. Lane Kiffin is being considered seriously at both Ole Miss and Arkansas.  People here (Ole Miss) in the know think it'll be Arkansas.

2. Urban Meyer apparently broke off talks with USC.  So they kept Helton.  Urban to NFL?

3.  Louisiana Lafayette head coach Billy Napier has emerged as the frontrunner for Ole Miss...  That's what I'm hearing from several folks.

4.  Florida State seems most interested in Memphis head coach Mike Norvell.  Mike won't talk to media until after their game this weekend.

5.  James Franklin (Penn State) is teasing the media...

This is how the season began, plus many lesser injuries and more followed.  NOBODY could coach successfully with what was left.

09/16/19   DL   Labryan Ray   Foot   is out indefinitely
09/13/19   DL   Antonio Alfano   Transfer
08/28/19   LB   Dylan Moses   Knee   is out for season
08/12/19   LB   Joshua McMillon   Knee   is out for season

ADD:

RB Trey Sanders      Foot, out all season. (#1 rb prospect)
PK Will Reichard.     Hip, out 5 weeks.     (#1 pk prospect)
TE Miller Forristall.   Missed last 4 games  throat injury
DT DJ Dale              Missed 2 games.       knee injury

Defense was hit super hard and I’m uneasy about Golding but he gets another year to prove himself, I guess.

That's what I figured (but what do I know.)  CNS probably doesn't want to deal with coaching changes until after signing day (Dec 18), and then he wants to announce new hires, i.e. not just departures.

Hey, 10 years ago when we were playing Texas in the BCSNCG, Joe Judge was an "assistant" to special teams coach Bobby Williams.  I believe this was more of a "staffer" position than full blown coaching position.   That's a heck of a jump in 10 years.

Heck, I hope he comes just for the entertainment value. And he already loves their visitors' locker room:

Quote
But the absolute worst locker room in college football? Coaches will have a different answer depending on where they’ve been, but Mike Leach says for him, it was at Mississippi State.

“Before the game, I did a whole walk-through and my heart swelled with pride,” Leach shared with ESPN in a short video, with his eyes getting wider and wider. “Because I knew there may never be a better visitors locker room than this one.”

Leach goes on to share how everything from the walls, to the floor and even the ceiling were made of concrete. Looking around, you’d find no furniture, benches, or even lockers in the whole place.

“However, on the wall, there were, and I counted them, 37 nails.”

Then, Leach shares the most impressive part of all to him.

“In the middle of the locker room, there were two toilets, right beside each other. And there is no seats on the toilets either. Then, between the two toilets, is ONE roll of toilet paper between the two of them.”

“The ultimate touch of brilliance.”

I like this hire for Miss State. Mike Leach will be fun to watch. Of course I am talking about press conferences. He is hilarious. He is bringing a Big 12 offense and defense to the SEC. Good luck with that. He will win some games but he will not get them back to the consistent level Mullen did IMO.

I agree.  Should be fun.
No idea why he'd take the job, unless he wanted to move before being fired.  Not a bad strategy.  He might be a good fit for MSU; win half the games and give the fans an entertaining product.

He will be a fit that will not be forgotten. He must have chilled some from Texas Tech though you haven't heard of any of his piracy jobs anywhere. RTR!

If Leach can bring in a good SEC defensive coordinator, MSU could become a dangerous team - probably not a championship contender, but a consistent 8-9 win team that’s just good enough to knock off one of the big boys from time to time.

Yea, this ^^  It will help Bama's strength of sched if OM and MSU can get into the top 20.

Whoa, slow down!

This is the same Mike Leach who lost to a Mike Shula coached Bama team in the 2006 Cotton Bowl -- Bama held Texas Tech to just 10 points.

I remember them saying Bama's DB's couldn't play man to man on the Tech receivers.
