So I wonder if Rich Rod will get promoted to HC?

We need a good DC I wonder if Luke can do that? RTR!

He's an offensive guy, played center, coached OL and co-offensive coordinator.

Strong and Odom are the defensive guys.

He was hired to be fired. Ole Miss was in total chaos due to Freeze and is Ho Hotline to Tampa. Luke was already on staff, had played at Ole Miss, & was popular. He never stood a chance as a head coach. Seems like a decent guy.

Forgot about him. I think he will be their choice since he won at WVU and was not a good fit at snobbish Michigan.

I never even heard him mentioned as a hot seat candidate. They are just coming out of sanctions and I thought he would be given a chance. Kinda surprises me.

Lots more to the story than y'all know, so hold off on speculations without evidence.  I'm hearing rumors, but I've only just gotten home.  If true, the story will come out this week.

The parts that I've gotten confirmation on today are:

1.  Luke was recruiting, and was with a recruit in Alabama when he got a text saying he was fired.

2.  There were apparently moves behind Luke's back to get the Memphis coach: Norvell.  It appears to be an ugly mess involving the new chancellor (hired under ugly circumstances himself; he didn't apply and was a paid consultant to help find a chancellor).

3.  Stand by while I try for confirmation on the rest of the crap.  Ugly business and big money.

4.  I still think Rich Rod would be the best choice.

Rotten way to fie a man who is out in a recruits home and fire him. That is just dumb. Other than some stupid players I thought Matt Luke seem to be a good person. RTR!

Part of the rumor that I didn't add concerned "baggage" that Norvell has.  I've heard rumors of both sexual and gambling issues (neither confirmed).  Either way, it seems that Ole Miss has moved away from him for now.  But until they hire someone, turnarounds are possible.  He has much support by some prominent donors.

Sounds like the new AD at Ole Miss will make the decision/choice of new coach himself (no committee).  That won't go over well, but it means it'll be fast.

I wonder if Lane Kiffin wants to come back to the SEC with all the talent here against him. RTR!

Reportedly he has been on both the Arkansas and Ole Miss campuses recently.  We hid all the coeds!

Well if he visited both campuses, he's definitely leaning Ole Miss.

Yeah, I'm thinking he's going to end up at Ole Miss.
I had dinner tonight with a guy who is well connected.  He thinks Kiffin will be announced as the HC early next week.

Personally, I think Kiffin is way overrated as a HC. He will have to play EVERY year: Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Misses State, & Texas A&M. Plus, some years they will play UGA, Florida, & Tennessee. His days are already numbered.
