Interesting info.

Quote
The remainder of Alabama’s season may well rest on the result of a single phone call Monday afternoon.

One game into the regular season and depth is already a dire concern for the Crimson Tide men’s basketball team, with nagging injuries to three potential starters and the uncertain eligibility of sophomore guard Jahvon Quinerly adversely affecting an already-depleted roster in Nate Oats’ first season.

Quote
Quinerly, Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne, compliance officer Matt Self and the program’s legal counsel are expected to hold a teleconference with an odd-numbered NCAA appeals committee at some point Monday afternoon where they will make Quinerly’s case for why he should be granted immediate eligibility after transferring from Villanova this offseason.

Quote
Without Quinerly, Alabama effectively has eight players capable of playing quality minutes, and that’s if junior wing Herb Jones (elbow) plays Monday. Jones remains a game-time decision against Florida Atlantic (1-1) after suffering a hyperextended left elbow after a nasty fall midway through the first half last Tuesday.

Don’t know if Jones will be ready on Monday. Man, these injuries are hitting us hard.

Injuries had been a problem in all sports at Alabama. I wonder sometimes even as we played back in the 60's how you prevent injuries. Are we over building in Mass and causing our bones and tendons to break easily? RTR!

Everyone I knew who played football was injured and pretty much stayed injured the whole season.  It's just a rough sport; always has been.

Basketball players all get sprained ankles and knees during their years of play.

I don't know if it's worse than the 60s; prolly so in bb, but not so in fb.
