Title: LSU BB Coach Will Wade in Hot Water Again
Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 30, 2019, 04:54:58 PM
I wonder what LSU does to Wade this time?

Quote
An undercover FBI video played at the trial on Monday showed former Arizona assistant coach Emanuel "Book" Richardson discussing Wade's recruitment of Naz Reid - the nation's No. 2 center by the Rivals.com recruiting website - out of Asbury Park, New Jersey in the summer of 2017.

On video, Richardson says Wade told him, "Look, there's a deal in place. I got $300,000 for him.”

Quote
"Listen, give me half (of the $300,000) and I'll make sure he goes there (LSU)," Richardson said on video of his conversation with Wade about Reid's recruitment. Wade is not on tape.

Reid, who was also recruited by Arizona, Kansas, Louisville, Syracuse and Kentucky, announced his commitment to LSU on Sept. 12, 2017, one day after Wade visited him, according to a the 247 Sports recruiting website, and later signed with LSU.

LSU must be in a tizzy right now. This is sworn testimony given in Federal Court. No way they can ignore this and the NCAA is salivating right now. LSU better cut its losses before it’s too late.

I thought the quoted passages were video taped conversations, not sworn testimony?   ???

Even so, CP, it's still evidence presented in a Fed court.  Was its admissibility challenged by the defense?  I didn't get that impression.

Yep, my bad. I re-read the story and it’s from a recording of the conversation. However, the NCAA can still definitely use it. A federal judge allowed its use in court. Thanks for the heads up.
