Rahm finds a deep fairway bunker.
Tiger splits the fairway beyond the bunker.  Excellent drive, and within reach of the green.

Corey Conners got bogey at #18, so he finishes at -2 (LEADER).

Rahm laid up.
Tiger was 268 from the green, and gave it a mighty ride.  He ended up hole high, but right of the green.

Tiger had a good chip to 10'; birdie attempt coming up.
Li had an incredible shot that almost went in for eagle; tap-in birdie for him and back to -2.

Tiger had a misread; tapped in for par.  Good play on that hole, but he wanted that birdie.
Rahm got a bogey (EVEN).

PAR-4 9th:

Tiger goes through the pine limbs, and rolls forward to the 2nd cut.  That's his first real missed fairway.

Tiger has to get his putter figured out.

Justin Harding  :dunno:  is the new leader (-3 after 15).

He uses one of those broomstick pendulum putters.   >:(

This is the hole cut near the pond (a teaser).  Li plays to the right and ends up in the bunker, chipping back toward the water.
Tiger plays it smart again, into the middle of the green with an easy par coming (it seems).

Jason Day injured his back.  Hasn't withdrawn, but might.   :(

Tiger's birdie attempt from 40' runs past a good 5-6'.  He's not happy with that, but it's uphill slightly.

Easy par on the 2nd hardest hole on the course.

Rahm ended up with a drive on the pinestraw, then a second shot well beyond the hole, but sank a long birdie.  Go figure!!

Rahm is in the front bunker.

Tiger sees the wind get Rahm's ball, so he plays it to the middle of the green and a bit long.  No problem, but long putt coming.

Day is walking gingerly.  Don't see how he can finish play.

Garcia is on the 15th hole, where he carded a 13 last year.  He missed the green by 25 yards, but better than last year!

Tiger was just off the back of the green, so he chips.  Get to about 3' of the hole.  Should be a par.

FAMOUS PAR-5 13TH HOLE:

With a good drive it's usually an easy birdie.  BUT, Stenson just showed that an 8 is possible too.

Tiger and other guys have to wait a while for others in the fairway.

Rory sinks to +2.
Lots of money riding on him this week, so there's a lot of puckering out there.   :unsure:

Been catching up on today's round. Tiger with solid play, but Koepka the "Major Slayer" is in the lead at -6. Phil at -4, Tiger at -2 and JT at even par. JT has burned so many edges on putts. He could easily be 3 or 4 under.

Dechambeau just hit the flag stick from about 200 yards away on 17. The ball back up 3 inches. He has that to tie Koepka for the lead.

Phil birdies #18 to get to -5 and one stroke off the lead. He burned up the back 9.

The day ends with Koepka barely missing another birdie putt. He and Dechambeau are tied for the lead at -6. Phil is at -5.

Dechambeau nearly had a hole-in-one on 16 for a tap in birdie. He chipped in for birdie on 17, and that was actually 18 where he hit the flag stick on his approach. So, he birdied the last 3 holes.

I am for anybody from Alabama. I ain't for Tigger. RTR!

Excellent, excellent golf from Brooks & Bryson.  Much better than they had been playing in recent tourneys.  Let's see how it goes tomorrow.

Jason Day finished the round.  Poor guy. Hope he's good enough to go  tomorrow.

Yeah, it was excellent golf by those 2. Phil too. Poor Jason Day may not be able to continue. Hopefully, he'll get a treatment tomorrow to help him continue. He had a solid round despite the pain.

Bet you didn't expect DeChambeau when you wished for an American to win, eh 2?  He's the biggest surprise.  Him and Phil.

Phil hasn't played well lately, especially driving the ball.  But yesterday he was pretty good off the tee.

Actually, that doesn't surprise me at all. Dechambeau is a very solid golfer who has played very well over the past year. I expected him to contend.

Even though Phil hasn't played well lately, he usually does well at Augusta. He LOVES the pacle. Don't know if he can hang with the young'uns all weekend, but it was good to see him play well yesterday.

I haven't gotten to watch the golfing yet but my question is: How are the infomercials going? RTR!

DeChambeau got a par at #1.

Poulter birdied the 2nd, and he's now at -4 (but among the gallery on #5).

Mickelson hit fairways on #1 and #2.  He's on #2 now.

The Barn Rat bogeyed #5 and dropped to -2.

Koepka now at -7 (birdie at #1).   :o :o

Jason Day tied for the lead even with his back issues.  I'm guessing his back didn't bother his game as much as my back bothered mine today!

Tiger is one back.  Made some great shots today but left 2 - 3 shots on the green with missed, makeable putts.  That can come back to haunt you at Augusta.

No. Spieth went to Texas. He was on the team that beat us in the match play finals to win the championship in 2012.

Hey folks, in case some of you missed it....due to threatening weather, the final round will start earlier... on Sunday a.m., with CBS coverage coming on at 900am eastern time.  They wil go out in threesomes and off 1st and 10th tees.  The last group (Molinari, Tiger, Finau) goes off at 920am.

Today is a day that will probably forever be remembered in golf history.  Right up there with Jack's '86 Masters win.  I'm thankful I got to watch it unfold.

Whether you like Tiger or not, you have to admit that what he did today was extremely impressive, not to mention how good his win is for golf.

He told Nick Faldo a couple of years ago that he was done. He was not physically able to competitively play golf again. The surgery he had on his back was nothing short of a miracle. As a result, not only was he able to compete, he was able to win. He won the Tour Championship last year, and was in the hunt at the British Open and the PGA. Today, he won The Masters. Tiger is back.

Not only is he back as a golfer, he's back as a human being. He made a mess of his life, but was able to come back from that, and the narcissism he exhibited for most of his young career. You can tell that he has embraced humility, and acknowledges the crowd (the patrons at Augusta) at every event, along with his fellow golfers. Did you notice JT, Zach, Bubba, Xander and others greeting him as he came off of 18?

People learn and grow from their mistakes, and I think Tiger has, unless he's fooled us all. I personally, am glad he won. Stokes a fire in all of us golfers.

I've always liked watching Tiger, and always enjoy his wins.  His success does not diminish that of Jack Nicholas or others; he's just himself.  It's absurd to say he's better than Jack; different times.  Both are superstars.

If you dislike him, so be it.  I'm sure he's heard it all before.  Just keep in mind that his winning is good for golf and good for sports.  Roll Tide.
