Title: The Final Four Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 02, 2019, 04:36:15 PM Saturday is the semi-final games of the Final Four. The match-ups are: Auburn/Virginia, then Texas Tech/Michigan State.
Auburn/Virginia: Auburn is a fast moving, almost chaotic in its pace of play. They try over 30 3 pointers a game (4th in nation), hitting 37% of them, & get 9 steals a game (5th in nation). Virginia has a great defense & is #1 in scoring defense (55.4 points a game) #4 in 3 point defense (28.7%), #5 in FG % allowed. Texas Tech/Michigan State gives us 2 bare knuckle fighters, especially Michigan State. Texas Tech has an awesome defense. Tech is #3 in scoring D (59.0), & #2 in FG D (37%). Michigan State is also fierce on D, #7 in total rebounds, & #5 in defensive rebounds. They score 78.3 points a game & give up 65.1. MSU is #3 in assists (18.7) per game and shoots 48.4 % a game (17th in country), better than Kentucky, Duke, or UNC.
I pick Michigan State to win. I pick Virginia to beat Auburn. If Auburn goes cold at all in shooting UVA wins. The plot involved Alabama, the REC, SEC Administration, SEC Refs, Big East , Big East refs, the NCAA, Jamos, and others. I’m sure it was planned to let Auburn stay close in the game, get a 2 point lead to set up the “foul” of the 3 point shooter. I bet Virginia was in on it, too. Plus, I have followed the Final Four for decades & have never seen such a final with no real name basketball power playing. No UNC, Kansas, Indiana, UCLA, Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State, Syracuse, etc.

No one was head over heels better than everyone else like Villanova last year. As a fan with no team in the Tournament I like upsets and close games. Very few major upsets this year but the Tournament top to bottom was competitive as ever.
