Alabama currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation, technically has four committed players heading into National Signing Day. But the Crimson Tide is still pursuing several other high-level prospects. With additional signings, 247Sports’ Director of Scouting, Barton Simmons, believes Alabama’s 2019 class could be one of the best all-time.

DL Byron Young, 77th overall player, stuck with Bama.  Christian Williams flipped to Miami.  Even though he's been committed to Bama since April, he's long since been considered gone.  Bama went after some other DBs who came in during the early signing period, and I don't think the staff considered this a loss.  Word is that LSU also turned him away recently.

WR George Pickens, the long-time Auburn commitment and #1 player in the state, did a last minute flip to Georgia.  That's somewhat bittersweet.  I almost think I'd rather Auburn have kept him.

I realize it doesn't matter about class ranking until 4 years later but...going into today Bama had the #1 ranked recruiting class.  Is it possible that they could be knocked out of the #1 class?

Jerrion Ealy (#3 RB) goes to Ole Miss.  Wants to play baseball too.

He'd de-committed from them earlier.

Most everyone thought Clemson had him.   :dunno: :dunno:

Possible now that UGA got Pickens.  But not likely.

DT Nathan Pickering stays with Miss State and signs with them.

DL Byron Young to Bama (signed??).

DE Charles Moore, who'd visited 3 different schools in the past week, signed with Boogs.

Bama gets speedy Eric Poellnitz, a KR and WR.  He will get a PWO for the summer, then a scholly in the fall.

4-star CB Kaiir Elam from Florida expected to choose between Florida and Georgia.

He picks FLORIDA! 

I just checked the 247 site and they have already added Pickens to Ga. ranking and they
still trail Bama by 314.70 to 308.28.

I know we all want to be #1, but we already have among the best classes ever signed at Bama.  Many of them are already enrolled.  We're good.  Looks like we'll finish #1 anyhow, but I'm good with it if we don't.

This one is a major SHOCK to me.  He'd been trending to LSU for the past month.

You can now mark down Alabama as the #1 class for 2019, even though he dropped from 5-star to 4-star.  He needs the weight room and conditioning drills.  He'll be a dominant player.

Ishmael Sopsher has been a top target for Alabama and LSU since the 2016 season. He is big body on the defensive line out of Amite, a powerful program in Louisiana and this one went back and forth to the final minute.

Sopsher looked to be a fairly strong Alabama lean for much of the fall and into early winter, but LSU really made a strong push at the end to close the gap. Even with all the coaching changes in Tuscaloosa, Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide won out.

Sopsher gave a very nice presentation.  His whole family is BIG.
They couldn't find a helmet big enough for him in the all-star game.
He even has big hair!

To'oto'o is the last great player that Alabama has among their top targets.

Henry To'oto'o is a 4-star INSIDE LB from Concord, California.  He was considered a stretch recruit for Bama, especially with all of the west-coast teams after him.  But now Bama's considered to have a good chance at signing him.  Hope so.
