Title: New Year's Day Bowl Games
Post by: 2Stater on January 01, 2019, 07:19:00 AM
11 AM - Iowa vs Miss St
12 PM - Kentucky vs Penn St
12 PM  - UCF vs LSU
4 PM   - Ohio St vs Washington
7:30 PM - Texas vs Georgia

Can they NOT schedule 3 SEC teams at the same time?

I think we're 3-2 now.  We need to win, and especially to erase UCF!   >:(

Well one thing I have learned when you put as many teams in the bowls as we do we are bound for some teams to have a let down. Which, when this happens it normally makes us lose a couple of games and there so makes espn be able to talk nasty about us. RTR!

The LSU/UCF game is absolutely crazy. Already has 3 ejections, one for a thrown punch by LSU, numerous personal fouls, and overall tough play. LSU 24-14 in 2nd qtr.

LSU defense has been dominating defending National Champs. UCF scored 7 points on pick 6, other than that, LSU in control. LSU has been dominating time of possession, too.

24-21 LSU. Half

LSU is so undisciplined with many penalties. They are down 5 or 6 DB's, 2 of them ejected in this game.

Another major turnover by LSU. They have provided massive help to UCF. LSU should be ahead by 3 to 4 TD's.

34-24 with LSU on UCF 7 yard line fumbles but recovers. Fourth quarter just started & LSU has 466 yards offense, UCF 193. LSU bumbles & stumbles near goal line and ends up having to kick FG. 37-24 LSU. LSU trying hard to let UCF win.

Despite Coach O's stupidity too.

LSU has 4th and 1 at the UCF 35 with 2 min left and an 8-pt lead.  A first down winds it.
But he thought they had a timeout left, and they ended up with a delay penalty and punted.
Saved by an interception.
The UCF QB ended the game missing 11 straight passes.

Good enough.   #+

MSU bobbled a ball on a pass in the end zone that would have put them ahead late.  Should have won.

Georgia has lost 2 in a row.  Even though most of us wanted them to win for the SEC, maybe this helps our recruiting over the next few weeks.  Can't hurt!

Looks like the lack of discipline has crept back in at Georgia.  Announcers said several of their players were benched during practice for not participating fully.  Even Magical Kirby couldn't keep them in line.

Sugar Bowl ended with 2 targeting fouls on Texas and a punch thrown by Texas during the last minute.

And Texas fans chanting, "OVERRATED".

Wow.  I'd gone to bed before that, but watched the end on ESPN this morning.

Not close.  UGA scored with about 14 secs left.  It was 28-7 until late in the 4th.  Just a beatdown.

Apparently some of the UGA players failed to commit to practice, and there was dissension among the players.  Sounds like Richt is back!!   :lol2:

Where were the throws from Fromm that he makes against Bama?  Also, where was the contested catches those receivers make against Bama?  Tx had a good game play and was happy picking up 3 to 4 yards a play and controlling the ball.  The short passes to TE/backs were nothing more than an extension of the running game.

SEC runner-ups who have missed out on the playoff/BCSCG haven’t done well in the Sugar Bowl or other bowl games in recent years. Bama has lost to Utah and and Oklahoma. The barn lost to UCF. UGA showed none of the passion they had against Bama last night. It’s hard to get motivated to face a second tier team when you were a play or two away from playing for the championship.
