39-30 Tide at half. Tide had 19 point lead at one time.

Tide

4/9 3 pointers
46.9% FG shooting
5/6 FT's
22 points in paint, AZ 14
21 bench points
Only 3 off. rebounds, AZ 7

Overall, good offensive & defensive play. Scoring spread around:

Reese 8
Smith 8
Lewis 7
Mack 5

Bama comes out asleep in the 2nd half.  Had a 9 points lead and now it is down to 3.

Don't seem to be playing with the same since of urgency as they did in the first half.

Saban needs to talk to them about finishing.  I'm sorry, but playing AJJ is like playing 4 vs their 5.

Tide has to get it together. Tide 3/11 FT in 2nd half. AZ 11/23 2nd half, Tide 7/13 in FG. Can't let AZ kill us on rebounds and shots taken. Jones throws up airball.

58-57 Tide

2nd half FT shooting is killing us, 6/15.

Huge shot by the freshman.

17 year old freshman Lewis hits huge 3 pointer with 13 seconds left to give Tide 73-68 lead.

If Bama doesn't win this game you can point directly to free throw shooting.  Sounds familiar.

Petty must hit FT but misses first, makes 2nd. Tide 9/20 FT's 2nd half, 45%. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Lewis hits both FT, 76-73 Tide. AZ takes wild shot with plenty of time left & misses. Tide wins!

76-73

Amazing isn't it? Who shoots 45% from FT line?

Good win, but should not have been so close.  Why are free throws such a problem for Bama.  Can anyone honestly tell me Schaffer is not better than AJJ?

Bama comes out asleep in the 2nd half.  Had a 9 points lead and now it is down to 3.

I slept through most of it too.  :-[

Could have been me too.  Like SC, I fell asleep.  Woke up and Bama was winning but missing FTs.

A win is a win.

They had two losses coming into this game. They lost to #1 Gonzaga and #8 Auburn. They are now 7-3.

I am fighting that feeling, but we have the players to win, do we have the coaching/development?

I saw players with no hustle, not going after rebounds, slow to get back on defense.

CAJ needs one or two players who work their tails off, even if they aren't the most talented, to inspire the rest of them to play harder.

Same thing I've been wondering, is he still recovering? He was Mr Hustle, excellent rebounder, and overall solid player.

I just checked and Riley played 8 minutes against Ga. State, but never played against Arizona.

Maybe that's been weighing on players, who knows.  Norris had surgery and is expected to make a full recovery -- hopefully he will be recovered and back at full strength soon.

I had heard on one of the radio broadcasts a while back that he'd been medically cleared.  I don't know if that was bad info, or he's just working back into playing shape slowly or what.  You'd think he could play 6-8 minutes even if not in the best of shape if he's cleared to go.

He played a few minutes in the loss to Georgia St. As expected, he looked pretty rusty. He has dressed out for the last several games.

Yes but even with Riley out shouldn't this team be able to beat these small schools we are playing? RTR!
