Title: Iron Bowl first half
Post by: bama57 on November 25, 2018, 08:27:30 AM
Was it just me or did it appear as though at times in the first half we deliberately mismatched put in designs for we knew we would create learning teaching moments and therefore give our opponents some hope only to come out after halftime and squeeze the life out of them

I don't think they were trying to create "teaching moments."

I think they were mostly holding the hell out of our receivers and we found ways to get them some clean breaks in the second half.

CNS said for some strange reason we did not play with any energy/emotion in the first half. That changed in the 2nd half. I do not think we were coaching them down to coach them up.

This was the first game I recall that we didn't try playing "hurry-up offense" when the team wasn't clicking.  We did it numerous times this year, but not during the first half of the Iron Bowl except on the goalline (as usual).
