Northeastern Huskies are hitting everything. We're still sloppy, 14-5 Huskies.

Tevin Mack taken to locker room. Tide D not moving quickly plus we are taking bad shots. 16-7 NE. We need to relax and get a better flow on offense & defense. NE beat Michigan State last year. Whoa!

Johnson, jr just stole ball & scored. 19-9 NE. Let's get the D going. Tide D looking better. Just caused NE to violate shot clock. Offense still harry-jerky. Lewis scores, 19-12 NE.

0-8 on 3 pointers, 29% FG shooting. NE 25 Tide 18. Kira Lewis looks so good and he's only 17.

Here are those 3 signees from yesterday.

Quote
Alabama men's basketball head coach Avery Johnson officially announced the Tide's 2019 signing class on Wednesday, as the Crimson Tide inked three players, making the group the 11th-ranked class for 2019 according to ESPN.com.

The three newest members of the Alabama men's basketball program are forward Juwan Gary (Charlotte, N.C/West Charlotte HS), along with guards Jaylen Forbes (Florence, Miss./Florence HS) and Jaden Shackelford (Hesperia, Ca./Hesperia HS). All three are four-star prospects and each is expected to make an impact for the Tide next season.

Ugly basketball.  Out hustled and out played.  0 for 10 from 3 pt. land.

On offense, NE looks so much smoother than Tide on O. Why is this a constant problem, along with poor 3 point shooting?

Tide shooting 30% FG and 6/10 FT. NE is 10/11 FT shooting.

Have faith and hang in there brother. First Alabama team I watched as a young teenager went something like 4-20. All white boys and the tallest one was 6'7". It was ugly until the great Wendell Hudson showed up.

If they are not going to score they better play better defense.

Finally, some offense on transition! Ingram rebounds, passes to Jones who scores & is fouled. Should I dare think he makes the FT? Made FT. 42-35 NE. Get rolling!

NE going again, 50-37 Huskies. Tide can't get a real scoring run put together.

They hit a 3, we miss a lay-up. 56-43 Huskies.

Why we are losing:

NE 56% FG and 7/12 3 pointers. They also have 14 assists. 59-45 NE. Their ball handling is excellent. They have 3 starting seniors and a junior.

Bill Coen is their head coach since 2006. His record is 201-186 winning 52% of his games so he's not exactly a world beater.

He's in his 4th year at Alabama and makes $2.8 million a year. What's your expectation you're apologizing for? I expect him to beat mighty teams like Northeastern and make it to the NCAA Tourney, and maybe even win the SEC Tourney.

We put a bunch of athletes on the floor. NE put a TEAM on the floor. Their spacing and ball movement was much better than ours. They got open looks and hit their shots. So far this year we are not a good shooting team.

I would like to see a line-up of Hall at the post, Mack at the 4 position, Ingram at the 3, Petty at the 2 and Lewis on point. Jones and off the bench along with Smith for the big guys. Let these guys play most of the minutes and mix in Reese, JR and Giddens when if you need to. Our substitution patterns does not let players get in rhythm.
