I have been perusing some Auburn fan boards over the last couple of days - wow, they are turning on Gussie and themselves like packs of wolves. I usually don't revel in other's misfortunes, but dang, this is like a bad car wreck - I just can't look away!

I'm going to have to look some of these up. There is nothing more entertaining than when the barners go into full meltdown mode.  :popcorn2:

-He does not do anything to endear himself to the fans. That's fine if you win, but if you don't people will want to cut bait.

-Losing to UGA and UA sucks, but what pisses people off is the games we lose we feel we should win.

-The losses look like absolute clusters on offense. Pair that with the lack of candidness to the media and you will have a vocal minority that is larger than it should be.

-Aggregating a bunch of high level data points doesn't do anything for the faction of fans that look at games against Clemson, Mercer and a list of other games where you just sit there and scratch your head at the product on the field.

Short of back-back-to back 10 win seasons, including at least splitting UGA and UA, there are some who will not be swayed in their stance on Gus."

"I'll just say this. If we lose 3 more games to finish 7-5 the noise will be unbearable. You don't give a coach the contract that we did and then have that kind of season. But, if it happens, we may be forced to eat the buyout and move on. It might be cheaper in the long run. Let's all sit back and just see what happens."

"I'm going to be completely honest here with my answer. I threw in the towel after we lost to LSU last year. The performances against Clemson and LSU were so bad offensively that I just gave up. Aub at the gym this morning asked me if I thought the Boogs could still get into the Playoffs if they win out, beat Bama, and beat UGA in the SECCG.

As you know, I'm surrounded by Ole Miss fans.  They're now resigned to years of mediocrity.  But the Aubs are the worst (DUH!).  This guy talks about the Aubs every morning at the gym, and I've never said much to him.  Never even told him I went to Bama.  Guess he assumed I went to OM.  Maybe he'll back off now.  In a few weeks the Aubs play OM in Oxford.  Just hope OM wins to get rid of him for another year!

Well, I’ve always reveled in the entertainment value of an auburn fan. They’re kind of like a Slinky, not really good for anything, but if you push one down a flight of stairs it will bring a smile to your face.

Just a few minutes ago on Finebaum, (incidentally, he is in front of JHS in Auburn), an Auburn fan called him and started trashing Malzahn. Said Auburn could have brought in any coach instead of extending Malzahn's contract.

While he was running his mouth, Finebaum jumped in the middle of the guys sh**, and asked him who Auburn could have brought in as coach. The guy kept hem-hawing around and Finebaum kept asking until he relented. The guy said "James Fisher". Finebaum turned to his staff and asked, "Anybody know James Fisher?" Crickets.

Then the guy said "I mean James Franklin". It did not end well for said dude.  :lol3:

Saw that.  It was Cole Cubelic.  The interview got cut off suddenly.  Cole was pissed, calling out the defensive player (unnamed) who went to Brandon Marcello beeching about teammates, etc.  Lots of venom in Boogerland.

Lost in my confusion over 2's message was that an Aub defensive player went to the media griping about Stidham and other players following the players-only meeting (which is supposed to be kept in confidence).  He complained that Stidham didn't have the commitment to win or ability to run the offense.  The Aub family is searching for the name of that player.
