Title: Question for you guys:
Post by: hscoach on December 02, 2017, 10:35:51 AM
Do you think Hurts was full speed last game?  How many times have you seen a defensive back square him up and make a tackle like in the AU game?

I think if he were in any way injured that would have come out by now one way or the other.

He seemed confused by something the Barn D was doing.  Disguised coverage, stunts or ??? Barn's pass rush was relentless and our OL was pitiful. Play design and play calling was also pitiful.  Jalen needed to make quick decisions which he is not good at doing, and he doesn't see the whole field --(never has, never will in my opinion.)  So he didn't see open rec's that he could have thrown to.  By the time he figured out what he needed to do, it was too late.

Full disclosure:  I am no fan of Jalen.  Don't believe we will win a NC with him as our QB.

It just seemed that he didn't make the quick cuts like he had before.  I think it seem to look that way at some time during the MSU game.  I could be totally wrong.  As far as quick decision making you have to have the  routes that allow that or conversions off of routes that were called and turn into man cuts.  I really don't know if routes were open all the time or not because of the view on TV.  I do know he saw the two deep routes and made catchable throws where AU made the intentional PI'.  Both could have been touchdowns or at least put Bama in the red zone.  I will agree the OL was not very good.

You might be right.  As much as he runs the ball, I would be surprised if Jalen isn't playing banged up this late in the season.  He hasn't seemed as explosive lately.  It would be one of those injuries we won't hear about until the season is over -- sort of like Greg McElroy's cracked ribs.  But I wouldn't say he was 100% against Auburn.

I just figured ... we , as a unit , right down to the water boy , had a huge case of the SUCK ...  :dunno:

then I figured in the golden horse shoe stuck in AU's anus ...

and that came up to what equals ....... we just got whooped   :stars:

We scored the same number of points against them as Clemson.  Their defense is pretty good.  The difference of course was that our defense just couldn't hold up with all of the injuries we had, and their offense has improved significantly since they played Clemson, particularly at the QB position.

What I can't wonder why Tua doesn't get to pass more. RTR!
