I agree with LSU Dad regarding the 2nd Amendment rights. I do not agree TW did nothing wrong. TW put himself in a bad position when he was out at 2:00 AM in a parked car that had enough pot smoke it drew police attention. A minor crime that will most likely be dismissed but CNS and the senior counsel need to lay down some punishment. In the long run it will do more harm to TW's reputation than anything else. Bad move for a young man who came back for his senior year to improve his draft stock.

Can the coaching staff not put a curfew on the time these players have to be in by, if they want to play at our University? RTR!

The NCAA did away with athletic dorms many years ago. IMO one of their worst decisions. Coaches are held responsible for the players off the field behavior but they cannot control where they live and can only spend a certain amount of time with them. Us old guys would be surprised at how many students are out at 2:00 AM on any given night. Athletes are no different.

If anyone watched the Houston - UCONN game, they showed a clip of Tom Herman doing bed checks with his players. They appeared to be in a dorm. It needs to go back to that,

When Gene Chizik was the barn coach he hired a private detective to do curfew checks all around the barn campus. He would go to apartments, dorms, etc. That was after the three players were arrested for armed robbery. The players rebelled and he lost the team and his job.

If he'd let them bring the goats in their rooms, it would have been ok.

CNS has never believed that suspensions are the best punishment for players who do stupid things. He got into it with Finebaum about it this summer. He handles things internally. From time to time our players do stupid things, which isn't surprising because college kids do stupid things, but Saban maintains team discipline without suspending everyone who gets into a little trouble.

I know.  But he was hardly ballistic when asked about it.
What punishment does TW get?

Punishment for stupidity should be different than punishment for true disregard for the law. Now with the smell of Pot that is disregard for the law so that should be punishment. If we were punished for stupidity all the time Lord, I would never get out of trouble. JMHO. RTR!

If he passed a drug test, then I am OK with it.  I assume he did.

So then what it boils down to is that he didn't realize his receipt for the gun purchased in LA would not serve as a permit in AL, even though it does in LA (reportedly).

He also needs to pick a different set of friends.  And at all costs, stay away from Brandon Chicken.

This all goes back to something I posted earlier about athletic dorms. Do yall think we will ever go back to that? I really thought CNS would somehow have something like this when he was hired to control all the freaky things. I don't have anything against coach Shula but let almost let things get away from him.
